The Power of Friendship

Hello, beauts and welcome to my channel if you are new! I had the absolute pleasure of collaborating and working with Ashley from @friendshipsocks on Instagram, be sure to follow her account, and check out her website located on her page!  My name is Alyssa, I have been blogging for a couple years now and I always looking for new blogging opportunities to come my way! Ashley inquired and was looking for a guest blogger for her site and I agreed and said I would be more than happy to help out! I love meeting and working with new people! I wanted to share with you beauts today the power friendship and what friendship means to me. I am featuring two of the most amazing people in my life, and you guys will have the chance to get to know more about them!

Friendship is a powerful thing, and some people underestimate just how important friends are in your life. Friends are everything. I can proudly and confidently say I have two main best friends, and you know what? That’s all I need. I have many friends, but there are two that stand out to me and only two that I really need in life.  Your friends help define who you are as an individual and person, and they help you grow in many different ways. My friends are considered my sisters, my role models and basically somebody who will always be there for me. I absolutely love them as a passion, and I am going to tell you a bit more about my friendship with them, but first, I think you need to know more about them as individuals.. let’s get on a more personal level.

Katherine- I met Katherine in my second year of university and lived with her in a student house. I absolutely love her with a passion and can not emphasize how much of an important part she plays in my life. When I was going through a very rough time in university dealing with my anxiety, Katherine was always there for me, basically like a big sister. I missed a bit of school and when I came back to my house and entered my room she had decorated my walls with positivity posters, emphasizing how grateful it is to be alive, to be breathing, to be HERE.  She is the motherly figure in the group, always wanting to help out and offer the best advice, I could not have asked for a better friend. I would not be where I am today without her support through these years. Katherine is the type to speak her mind, to say what she is thinking and to stand up for what she believes in.  Katherine wrote these beautiful words for me one day when somebody very close to me was in desperate need of advice love and support.

Katherine wrote, “This is  for the girl that needs to know and realize how loved she is. This is for the girl that is struggling with confidence, self-respect, self-love, and appreciation.  This is for the girl that is struggling with everyday stuff like getting out of bed, or holding a conversation. This is for the girl struggling with life.

Life is a very strange and interesting thing. There are ups and downs, you’re angry, you’re sad, you’re emotionless, but all these emotions and feelings come with life. Life is one of the most precious things that you will ever be given. Nothing will compare to it. There are over 7 billion people in this world, but you struggling girl, were only given one. And your life is the only life like yours. There is no other girl like you, struggling girl. You’re one of a kind. You may not see it now, but you are loved. You are loved by so many. Your family, your friends, people you have not even met yet. You have so much more of life to live, you have so much more people to meet and to love you. you will be loved at every stage in your life”.

Needless to say, Katherine is amazing. She is not only an amazing writer but an amazing photographer as well. To this day we are still best friends and growing more closer than ever. I could not picture life without her, and every day is a blessing having her in my life. Now, let’s move onto my other best friend Jessica.

Jessica – I met Jessica in my first year of university, and let’s just say, we were both really quiet individuals. We were not as close to each other as we are now. Jessica is another motherly figure who is now a beautiful wife to her amazing husband, we could not be happier for her. Jessica always kept me on top of homework when I loved doing things last minute, and still to this day love to do things last minute… that has not changed!  Jessica is an outdoors type of girl who enjoys camping, hiking, and discovering new adventures. Again, I could not picture life without this other individual in my life. She is one of the sweetest girls I know, who puts others before herself…. always. You can always count on Jessica for anything and she is always a shoulder to cry on. Jessica is the type of girl who will put everything aside for you, put things on hold, and listen to everything you have to say or if you need to vent. Life wouldn’t be the same without her, she is such a beautiful soul inside and out. Life is always an adventure with her, smores, bonfires and all!

Even though we are growing up, our lives are changing and new adventures are coming our ways, we never lose touch with one another. In fact, we all have matching tattoos of a compass and the words, ” no matter where” to emphasize that no matter where we are in the world, we will always be there for one another, always a shoulder to cry on, and ears to listen. Having long distance best friends is not easy, but having faith and hope keeps us going. The power of friendship is amazing. Treat your friends so well and you will never lose touch with them. Your friends will always be there for you no matter what if they are true friends, and I can truly say that Katherine and Jessica are my guardian angels.

If I had to write a personal letter to my best friends it would be something like this:

Dear Best friends,

Thank you. Thank you for lifting me up when I am too frail and rigid to get up by myself. Thank you for promising me a tomorrow, and ensuring that I have a great day today. I am fortunate and thankful, not only for your presence but your guidance as well. Time flies by but yet you are still here making sure I am smiling, and that life is magical. You ensure that today is a positive day and to look forward to tomorrow. I am looking forward to it so thank you. Thank you for asking how I am doing each day even though we are miles apart. I know this isn’t easy, but thank you, dear friend, for allowing this journey to be a lot easier for me to endure. I treasure our friendship, not only because we share something special, but I know others do not have one like we do. I know ours is one of a kind and it takes two special people to make that happen. Love, kindness, patience, trust, and happiness is what we have and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Thank you for saving me in my time of need and not turning your backs on me. I needed you guys more than ever, and to this day you guys are still here, waiting for me. I adore you. Friendship like ours only grows, and we become stronger people because of it. So thank you. Not only for being my rock and keeping me grounded but for allowing me to strive as an individual, pushing me harder and allowing me to grow. Thank you for allowing me to have the best job and position in the entire world, being your best friend.
