Soft Brown/Pink Smokey Eyes; Morphe 350 Shimmer Palette Tutorial

Soft Brown/Pink Smokey Eyes; Morphe 350 Shimmer Palette Tutorial

Good evening beauts! Here with another makeup tutorial on the stunning Morphe 350 Shimmer Palette. I am going to keep this one short and sweet for you beauts, so shall we get right into it?

First, I already applied my full face such as foundation, brows, powder, highlighting and contouring. I always love applying my face makeup first before doing my eyes. I don’t know why, is anyone else with me on that one?! I then am grabbing my Morphe Palette, and am going in with this beautiful light light pink shade. I am using a fluffy brush and applying this in the crease as well as slightly above it. I also am using some tape for the eyes. I want to have a very clean line after applying my shades so I simply applied tape to the outer corners of my eyes.

Next, I went in with the darker pink shade that was beside the previous shade and applied this within the crease only while using my fluffy brush. I made sure I kept it only in this area, and blended it out quite nicely.

Next, I went in with this beautiful browny-pink shade and applied this to the entire lid. After applying this shade, I made sure it was blended quite nicely and a nice transition was made from the lid to the crease. Since this is a darker shade, you want to make sure there are no harsh lines.

After applying that shade, I am taking this dark brown and applying it to the outer V of my eyes. This is going to create depth and definition to the eyes. I also removed the tape after this step. Voila, nice and clean and hardly any fallout whatsoever.

After applying the shadow, I then went in with my trusty and fantastic new mascara by L’Oreal and applied this to the top and bottom lashes. I also added a winged liner and applied the dark brown shade that we used for the outer V, underneath my lower lashes.  I then did some last minute touches such as applying some lipstick and highlighter. I decided to give this new highlighter a go and it is the Clinique Chubby Stick from Sephora. I did like this highlighter a lot, and it was very easy to use which was great! For my lips, I used the Maybelline Colour Jolt Intense Lip Paint in the shade “Stripped Down”. I absolutely love these lip paints, they are so moisturizing and my lips feel phenom.

I also went in with this light cream shimmer in the Morphe Palette and applied this to the inner corners of my eyes just to brighten them up!

I hope you guys enjoyed this makeup tutorial on another look for the Morphe 350 Palette! I have honestly too much fun experimenting with colours and shades! You guys know the drill, be sure to check out my other social media accounts to stay updated!

Empties/New Beauty Products; March

Empties/New Beauty Products; March

Processed with MOLDIV

Happy sunday beauts! I hope you guys are all having a wonderful weekend so far! My weekend has been great which always puts me in a good mood! I decided to write today’s post on new beauty products that I have purchased for the month of March and instead of making another blog, I decided to mention some empties that I will be repurchasing as well. I always always love reading these kinds of blog posts, I think they are so informative which is awesome, so I thought, “why not do it for you beauts!“, let’s get into it!

New Beauty Products

I am going to mention some of the newer products that I purchased this month. I did not really buy too many products because to be honest, nothing really caught my eye that much. However, the couple products that I purchased I am super happy about and thought I would share with you guys. The first is the picture located at the top. I purchased the new “Cupcake” face mask from Lush. This face mask smells unreal and is to be kept in the fridge. I tend to have combination skin, so I find that this face mask works perfectly when I do have oily skin. I really love how this face mask has ingredients to calm redness, cool those troubled areas, and to deeply cleanse your skin. I really do love this mask and highly recommend trying it out for yourself. I purchased it at Lush for around $11.00.

image4 (14)

The second product that I have for you guys is… you guessed it…. the Nicole Guerriero Palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I purchased this at Sephora for around $52.00, and highly highly recommend trying it out for yourself. I have been constantly using the same highlighter since forever, it is the Laura Mercier Highlighter and I usually always mention it within my makeup tutorials. I was hesitant to try a new highlighter but can honestly say I am glad that I did! I absolutely love the variety of shades this palette comes with. You get pink shades, coral shades, champagne shades, platinum shades, and brown shades. I focus the brown shades more on contouring and bronzing areas simply because they are a bit darker for a highlighter. I usually go in with my regular bronzer then apply the shimmery Nicole bronzer on top and it looks absolutely flawless.  You can play around with the shades when it comes to different looks as opposed to just using one highlighter.

image1 (43)

(Yes I already got the top of it covered in foundation… leave it up to me)

image2 (32)

Hands down I would have to say this is my favourite eyeshadow palette at the moment, it is the Modern Renaissance Palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I was recommended by a friend to try this out and I have to say, it is absolutely flawless. The amount of looks you can create is insane, and there is literally a look with everything. I love how this palette pushed me out of my comfort zone and got me to experiment with new shades and colours. I now wear oranges and purples to work which I never would have done. The colours are extremely pigmented which is wonderful and you can make the looks as subtle or dramatic as you wish. I purchased this at Sephora for $55.00 and highly recommend giving this baby a try!

image2 (33)

So I literally just bought another beauty blender today at Sephora for around $28.00. If you would have told me years ago to go out and purchase this sponge I would have told you that you are out of your mind and I am not purchasing a sponge for $30.00. Guys, I can not live without this now. I have had my old beauty blender for a couple of years now but it was looking pretty beat up not going to lie. I had the black beauty blender but decided to get the pink one just to change things up a bit. I always use my beauty blender when applying my foundation to my face, my concealer and so forth. Even if I am baking, I will use my damp beauty blender to apply the powder under my eyes (works unreal). I for sure think this is my ride or die, I don’t know how I lived without this. If you are hesitant to spend the money on a sponge trust me, it will change your life.

image3 (23)

I just recently finished this product and will for sure be buying another one. I loved using my Mac Studio Fix Powder when setting my foundation. This was around $33.00 at the Mac store, but highly worth it in my opinion. I love a powder that is full coverage, just incase I do not feel like wearing foundation a certain day, I can use my powder instead and be ready to go. I love the full coverage and it does not feel heavy on my face at all.

image2 (34)

I absolutely love my L’oreal Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black. I purchased this at Shoppers for around $15.00 but it literally makes my lashes look unreal. I love mascaras where you can actually notice you are wearing mascara, and I love ones that make your lashes look super long. I have naturally long lashes so when this product is applied…wow. I absolutely hands down love this drugstore mascara.

image1 (45)

This is hands down my absolute favourite eyelid primer. I have been using this for years now and it has not let me down. It is a yellow shade which makes your eyeshadow just pop and stand out a whole lot better. This is the Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer, and I purchased it at Sephora for I believe it was around $22.00. I highly recommend trying this out for yourself if you are looking for a good quality eye shadow primer.

image4 (13)

I absolutely love love love this foundation! It is the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation in the shade 2.0.  I bought this a little while ago and it really has lasted me a long time! I usually only wear this foundation on nights out or when I have a long day ahead of me. This is not an everyday foundation simply because it is so heavy duty. I always make sure after wearing this for a night out, I treat my skin after with a nice mask, just to let it breathe . I bought this from Sephora for around $50.00, but highly worth it.

image3 (25)

Yes, this product looks beat up to shit I am aware. But hey, it got some great use out of it! This is the NYX Cosmetics Eyeshadow in the shade Taupe. I think this eyeshadow was under $10.00 which was awesome. I actually use this shadow for filling in the beginning of my brows for the gradient effect. This colour works beautifully and can be used in so many different ways. This is an amazing transitioning colour as well, and is very pigmented.

I hope you beauts enjoyed this quick post on different beauty products that I purchased and products that I will be repurchasing as well. Let me know if you guys have tried any of these products before! I hope you guys have a wonderful week, be sure to subscribe and follow my social media pages:

“Driven by Creativity”, the motivation and dedication of Katie Marie.

“Driven by Creativity”, the motivation and dedication of Katie Marie.

Processed with MOLDIV

(Huge shoutout to @delavie_photography for capturing this unreal photograph of Katie! Be sure to check out her page for more beautiful and stunning photographs!)

Hello my beauts, I am on a roll this weekend!  love just blogging away on weekends, that is when I have the most time. I can literally sit with a cup of tea, not rush, and just type away expressing my thoughts and feelings towards you beauts! I absolutely have loved recently collaborating with different people. If I spot something that I find might benefit and interest you beauts, I will for sure reach out to that individual and ask right away if they would not mind collaborating with me on a blog! The most recent one I had just finished was Alexandra Del Bello, be sure to check her out, her work is unreal. Shall we jump into day’s blog post? So I know for me personally, I have such a hard time with self-motivation. I have gotten a bit better, don’t get me wrong, but I find this is always a tough subject to discuss. If my boyfriend says to be after a long days work, “can we please do the laundry tonight?”, chances are I am probably going to hard bail on that one by far. I feel that some days a lot of people, myself included, need that extra boost of motivation to get up and just get er done! There is one person in particular that comes to mind when I think of motivation and determination. She is such a “go-getter” as she calls herself, and I am sure many people incuding myself can see that from a mile away! Can you guess who I am going to collab on today? The beautiful Katie Silva of course! Honestly guys, I can say I have never personally met Katie before, but I had admired her posts on Instagram for months now…. is that creepy? Anywho, fan girl crushing over here. What attracted me to her account was her beauty-related material. I absolutely love makeup guys, you know me. When I saw that Katie was so involved in beauty-related material I was stoked. I love following people and getting more advice/information on that kind of stuff. I was stunned by how flawless she did her makeup and the looks she came up with! I had the pleasure to ask Katie some questions in regards to her life.  This interview is going to discuss topics in relation to beauty, Youtube, her Jewelry line, and her photography business… phew… how do you do it Katie?! Let’s get into it!

Processed with MOLDIV

The first question I wanted to ask Katie right off the bat was pretty simple, it was based on her motivation. I had asked Katie if she had always been a motivated person all her life? Katie states, ” Most definitely! I’ve always been a go-getter my entire life. If there’s something I have in mind or a goal I want to achieve, I push myself beyond limits and make sure nothing prevents me from getting to where I want to be. Of course – just like everyone else, I have my “off days”. Self-healing days as I like to call them! Where I’m just not inspired, not motivated, and feel down in the dumps. But I remind myself that this too shall pass – and it happens to the best of us.
As long as you remained focused and find something you are truly passionate about, you will be able to stay motivated even through the hardships!”. I absolutely love this. I know it is completely normal to have your down days which is understandable…. everyone gets them! Having the motivation and positive thoughts to say “hey it’s okay to have your down day, tomorow will be better“, is so crucial to living a healthy lifestyle.

I know that some days if I am super stressed out, that’s when my bad days start creeping from around the corner. Stress and me do not get along. I am always interested to see how other peoples’ lives are, especially if they are living a pretty hectic life like Katie herself. Katie explains, “ I just keep my goals in mind and try to focus on them. Think of it this way – if you are at work and you keep looking at the clock, your day will draaaag on. But on days that you are uncontrollably busy, don’t you find the day flies by? The more you keep yourself busy, the less you will think of the negative. I apply the same motive to my lifestyle! Be goal oriented and cut the self-pity. Don’t overanalyze the what-if’s and move past the obstacles.  Also… lots… and LOTS… of caffeine…”. Amen Katie Amen, I think we all need a Katie in our lives to help us get through the day, don’t you think?! Honestly seeing and hearing about how other’s handle those busy days and stress is so interesting. Hearing those coping mechanisms surely motivates me to use them more, and literally not look at the clock as much on those boring days at work!

image4 (10)

“…everything happens for a reason”

On the topic of motivation and determination, I wanted to ask Katie if she had any specific words of motivation that help her to keep on going. Katie explains, “It’s not the hand that you’re dealt with, it’s how you play your cards.” Yes, this is a lyric taken from a Ludacris verse. LOL. But it is by far, my all-time favourite quote. Whatever life may throw at you, there’s always two ways of looking at it. The more you victimize yourself, the more you will lack motivation and give up. If you think about the positives in a negative situation, you will maintain focus and it might even give you that extra drive that you need to succeed. ALWAYS keep in mind, “everything happens for a reason” and trust that the journey will lead you exactly where you need to be!”

image1 (10)

Aside from her strong self-motivation, this has brought her into all kinds of fun things, one of the topics being beauty. I had known for a fact that Katie was into makeup and applying makeup. There were specific questions that I was extremely interested about, and wanted to get into further detail! When did you start getting into beauty? “It mainly started back in grade 7. I, unfortunately, came down with a horrible case of chicken pox, so bad they classified it as “the worst case of shingles they have ever seen”, which NO 13 year old should ever have to go through haha. At the time, it left a lot of temporary scars on my face once the singles ran its course. I became really self-conscious and I remember my mom took me to the drug store and bought me my first concealer/foundation duo to try and hide the scars so I could go out in public again. To this day – I haven’t left my house without makeup lol. Yes, the scars are completely 100% faded and not a hint of anything is left on my skin, but over the years it’s become a security blanket for me. Only recently, about a few years ago, did I really start learning about applying makeup properly and developed a new found appreciation for the art of makeup. I guess you could say I accidentally got into beauty, but it has basically become a part of me”.  It’s a good thing you got those chicken pox then eh Katie? That is so crazy how she accidently got into beauty, but now is such an inspiration for beauty towards others.

image2 (25)

image3 (19)

Going off of the topic of beauty, I know that Katie has attended multiple beauty events as seen on her Instagram page. I had a high curiosity for this, and wanted to touch more base with these events!  Are there any beauty events that you have gone to? So many to date, I don’t even know where to begin! I have to thank Dave Lackie for the unbelievable experiences I’ve had so far. I met Dave through one of his luxury giveaways that I won. We started talking and he was really intrigued by my beauty channel/blog at the time. I ended up getting invited to one of his VIP events and from there we formed the most unbelievable friendship! I started going to every Dave Lackie VIP event and I have met the WORLDS most AMAZING people and formed life-long friendships from attending the events. We like to call ourselves “dave’s babes”, haha! I’ve met some of the top high-end beauty company CEO’s (Clarins, Theirry Mugler, Shiseido, YSL, Givenchy among many others) and learnt so much about their amazing products. I am forever grateful for my experiences, and if it wasn’t for my full-time job, I would be attending lotsssss more!”. What an unbelievable experience Katie! It would be such an inspiration to have met some of the people that she has, and to think it was from a giveaway blows me away.  I think we all need some of her luck passed onto us, I know I sure need some! I love hearing about this kind of stuff, especially when it comes to beauty-related material.

image2 (24)I know that you have a Youtube channel, “Katie Silva; Makeup by Katie Marie”, did you always want to start a Youtube channel? “Youtube was another thing I kind of stumbled into. When I was doing makeup applications, a few people had brought up the idea to me. I love computer programming (a bit of a nerd, yes.) and I love putting together clips and creating videos. It comes natural to me and that was the most exciting part for me – designing them! Lol. I was a nervous wreck the first time I uploaded a video, I don’t think I slept for 3 days haha. But once you overcome the first few uploads, it actually becomes quite enjoyable! If you are thinking of making a youtube channel – please be prepared to have some serious negative backlash and bullying. Some comments were just downright rude, but it’s actually given me so much self-confidence and thickened my backbone in ways I never thought imaginable. At first, I was worried about what people would think of me – but after a few negative responses I started thinking, screw you guys, I like who I am, I am comfortable in my skin, and this is who Katie is. Like it or not, your opinion is irrelevant. And once I accepted this new mentality, my ENTIRE life changed for the better. I stopped fearing negative consequences and suddenly my anxiety vanished. I stopped doing youtube videos because to be honest, I just don’t have the time. It takes weeks and longggg hours to film, edit, and put together videos and it was starting to interfere with my full-time career, so I had to stop. I might get back into it down the road – who knows!”

Processed with MOLDIV

Aside from Youtube, I did know that Katie was accepting clients to do their makeup application for a while now. I wanted to go a bit more into depth with this topic. I know that previously you were accepting makeup clients to do their makeup application, what made you stop and did you enjoy doing this? “To be quite honest, this was yet another thing I accidentally got into. One of my best friends had asked me to do her makeup for her birthday, I was a bit hesitant because I had never done anyone’s makeup before, but I gave it a go anyways. She posted a photo of the final result and my phone just blew up. I had so many inquiries and people wanting to book appointments that it sort of turned itself into a business. After doing it for a few months, I realized I wasn’t happy, and this wasn’t something I wanted to do in my life. It was more of a hassle and felt like a task rather than something I enjoy doing. I think because makeup is something I’ve carried as a burden my whole life, it just wasn’t giving me the satisfaction most makeup artists have. I started getting into photography (my lifelong passion) and I can’t even describe the happiness it gave me. I stopped offering makeup applications to focus on my government career, and start building my own photography business. It has been the best decision I’ve made yet!”.

image3 (18)

image5 (1)

Moving onto the next subject I wanted to get into with you guys, photography! I had known that Katie had recently gotten back into photography and now has her own business, “Katie Marie Photography”. I thought of a few questions I would like to ask Katie in relation to her business! One of the main questions I had for Katie was if she had always been interested in photography. “Yes. Yes. Yes! My entire life. ANYONE who knows me knows I always have a camera in my hands. I’m always taking pictures of anything and everything, and I looooove to edit photos. I’ve always owned DSLR’s, I’ve had Canon, Nikon, and now Sony. I guess the main reason I didn’t get into it professionally was fear of building a solid career (it can be an unstable industry at first), and I also never took the time to really teach myself how to use a DSLR properly. Let me tell you – it is not easy to learn. There are so many things you need to know when it comes to photography and it always kind of freaked me out. At the time I just wasn’t ready to invest my energy into it.

I finally decided to follow my passion and really learn the art of photographing people. It came natural to me and I picked it up in no time. Again, I took some test shots of friends, and the inquiries just started pouring in. Fast forward to not even a year later and I’ve booked weddings, taken on hundreds of clients, opened my own studio space, collaborated with some of the best photographers/videographers in the business, and I am booked solid for the next 6 months with shoots. This is my forever happy place and not a day goes by where my photography and business isn’t consuming my mind. And I love every second of it!” .

image1 (16)

It really takes a special kind of person to gather the courage and start your own business, it really is not an easy thing to do. I completely look up to and admire Katie for taking this huge leap and just going for it. Literally, what was the harm and look where it has gotten her! Unbelievable.  You have to just go for it, and that’s what she did. What made you want to start your own business? It is in my blood – literally! Both of my parents are entrepreneurs and own their own businesses. I am basically a clone of my father. He works for the government full time and runs a DJ business on the side. I also work for the government and run my businesses on the side as well. It must be a Silva thing, haha! I am not one to succumb to societal norms, and I find it hard to stay in a job that doesn’t fulfil me. Being my own boss is the only solution to happiness for me. I love helping people, I love LOVE LOVE creating, and I get to do both of those in running a business. The skills I’ve learnt through my full time job have taught me to be a professional, successful business woman. And now I get to enjoy the best of both worlds!

Recently, I requested to switch from full time in my government job, to part-time, so I can have more time for my photography business. I am over the moon and so completely content with the blessings I’ve received this year. I started a new position with the City in the Mental Health and Street Outreach program, and also the Alcohol Drug and Gambling Services Division. This position is amazing. It brings me such happiness as well, knowing I can help make a difference in the lives of those struggling with Mental Health and Addictions. Mental Health is very important to me, and I’m ecstatic that I am working in this specific department. I help people in both my government job and photography business, both which fill my heart with happiness. It really is amazing, and I am so humbled and blessed to be where I am”.

I absolutely love this, mental health plays an important part in my life, so I am very proud that you are working in that field! You are doing so well for yourself, and for sure going far in life!

image4 (11)

I know we are all dying to know more about Katie’s photography business because I know I sure was! I asked Katie about all the ins and outs of her business as well as the packages that she has to offer. Katie states, “The list is definitely too long to type, it basically just depends on the type of photography they are looking for! If my client has a certain idea in mind that doesn’t fit my normal packages, I am always open to discuss special requests! You can find my prices on my website, and for wedding packages, I usually prefer an in-person consultation as each wedding is unique, and different services may be requested!“. You guys know what to do! Give her website a peak and I know for sure you will not be disappointed whatsoever that’s a given. The pictures she captures are absolutely gorgeous and I know for sure I will be booking an appointment soon!

image1 (17)

image2 (26)

image3 (20)

What photo shoots do you specialize in? Many different types! It all depends on the type of photography they are inquiring about. I provide services for basically anything you can think of. Newborn, Maternity, First Birthday, Cake Smash, Family, Engagement, Wedding, Portrait, Boudoir – you name it! I have custom packages geared towards each style of photo shoot. I find a lot of my clients become “clients for life” as they progress in life. I’ve had maternity shoots that have turned into newborns, engagements, weddings – all of life’s beautiful special moments. When you find a great family photographer, clients tend to stick with them. I want to be as open as I can to any idea and style of photography, so I can assist them in any way possible!”

Not only does Katie have her own Youtube Channel, and photography business, she also has created her own jewelry line…. GUYS… literally perfection. I can not emphasize how jealous I am of her motivation and dedication in life, she literally just keeps going on and on. I love it. I jumped straight into asking Katie about her Jewelry line because quite frankly, I am interested in purchasing some soon!

What made you want to create, “Sacred Lotus Jewelry”? Anxiety! I’ve suffered with anxiety my whole life. It is just something I’ve learnt to accept and learnt to maintain and control naturally. I am always open to new ways of personal aid, and I stumbled across essential oils. I really enjoyed the benefits they gave me (specifically lavender oil) as I felt they really helped calm me down throughout the day. I wanted to create something that allowed me to diffuse my essential oils on the go, and still be fashionable at the same time haha. In government agencies, we actually have policies that prevent us from wearing perfume or having any scented products in the office. Therefore, a diffuser is out of the question lol. With essential oil jewelry, it isn’t overpowering at all. I rub a bit into the lava beads in the morning and only I can smell it throughout the day. Whenever I need a little stress reliever – I just sniff the beads! You really can’t smell anything unless you are wearing the bracelet – so it’s perfect for an office environment that restricts scents. Again, I love helping people, and these bracelets have helped so many people in the same boat as me”. I hear ya girl, anxiety is a bitch and I suffer from it myself so I know where you are coming from. I think is was such an amazing and fabulous idea to start! I know a lot of people would benefit greatly from this line since mental health is becoming more popular and people are more open about it. I think this is great.  I also think the idea of the bracelets are amazing, who would’ve thought of that!? That’s right... Katie Silva!

image1 (18)

image2 (27)

(Guys, how cute is this packaging, though?!)

Are you still making the jewelry? What types of jewelry do you sell? Not at the moment. I do have a bunch pre-made that I sell, and I occasionally will set up a vendor table at bazaars, but I just don’t have the time to continue running my online shop. Once I dove into photography that became my main priority. I found myself falling behind on orders and just not being able to complete them in time to ship out. I will still take the occasional pick-up order, but I invest all of my free time into photography now. I sell essential oil diffuser bracelets – and you can find them here! “. You know what to do beauts, give er a peak!

image3 (21)

So I know what you guys are thinking, how much are these cute bracelets, because sure as hell I wanted to know! Katie states, “Roughly $10-30 range. I don’t have any bracelets that are over $30. If you are picking them up in person, I usually just sell them for $20! Again, it depends on the style of bracelet and gemstone used, some are more pricey than others. But I try to keep them as affordable as possible!”.

Future Plans and Goals

image5 (2)

After interviewing Katie, I came up with some last questions based out of curiosity. I was very curious to see if Katie had any future plans later on in life, or some long term goals. Katie explains, “I’m happy to say that I’ve finally reached a point in my life where my current short term goals have been met. It’s taken me many years, lots of stress and obstacles, and an exceptional amount of hard work to be able to say that – but I am happy with where I am.
Of course, I always have goals in mind. Moving forward my next goal is to grow my photography business and let it blossom into something unbelievably amazing. I’ve come very far in a short period of time and I anticipate this is going to be the best year yet – photography wise! I’ve opened my own little studio, gained the most amazing clientele, stepped my gear up, and found my true calling. Now I just need to master my skills and keep bettering myself and my art. I plan on taking it to a whole new level and collaborating with many other creative individuals throughout the course of the year. Aside from that, I am just trusting the journey”.

image1 (39)

Lastly, to conclude this collab with the beautiful Katie Silva, I decided to ask one more main question. That question was, now what? Where do you want your journey to take you?  “I really want the journey to excel to places unimaginable. I want to take my creative ventures to the next level and surpass my expectations of myself. This year, I am going to try and focus on my inner self more. Career wise – I am always striving to meet my goals. It’s time I take a step back and focus on my mental wellbeing, and get myself into a better state of mind. Sometimes I need to remind myself to stop, and smell the roses J ..and to stop being such a workaholic and not let life pass me by.

I want to help my fellow colleagues as well. I’ve gotten to where I need to be, and now it is my duty to help those around me. I do have a lot of knowledge in many aspects and if an insight into my life can help at least ONE person, then that makes the journey all worthwhile”.

image2 (28)

Thank you so much Katie for collaborating with me on this blog post! I had such a great time writing this up and getting to know you on a more personal level. I am sure a lot of people benefited from this post, admiring your motivation and dedication in life. You have inspired a lot of people, including myself, to follow your dreams and just go for it! Beauty Must-Haves for October & November

Beauty Must-Haves for October & November

ssssHey my beauts, I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend so far! I have been counting down the days til it was the weekend, what a week…. I have been struggling to try to find the motivation to pick up my blogging again as I do have a few ideas in mind for blog posts in the near future. I finally picked up the motivation today to write a blog post for you guys…. have patience with me as I am trying dearly to get out of this strange funk I have been going through.  I decided to write this blog post today on different products I have been loving recently and strongly recommend for you beauts to try out! I decided to label this blog post for the month of October & November, even though October has come to an end, I have tried out these products through those months. I am well aware that some of you may be thinking, ” wow lyss, some of these products are super old and I don’t know why you are not sharing newer products with us?“. Yes I know some of these products are older ones, but some of my subscribers and viewers may have never even tried these products before, both old and new. I know for a fact that I absolutely love reading reviews and what YouTubers or bloggers recommend when it comes to any kind of product especially beauty related.   Feel free to pass by some of the older products if you wish to do so, but I do highly recommend all of these. I am so happy I finally tried out some of these products, especially the older ones, as I completely fell in love with every single one. Okay, okay…. let’s get into this post shall we?

So the first product that I am going to share with you guys is this lovely line of “Lip Lingerie” within the Nyx Cosmetics. Guys….. GUYS. Can we just take two seconds to take into account how beautiful these are. I actually had one of my friends recommend trying this beauty product out for myself, and was raging about the amazing shades! I finally stopped by at Shoppers to grab two of these shades to try out for myself. These liquid lipsticks are a bit on the pricey side for a drugstore product. They are around $10.00 each, but they are well worth it considering lipsticks at Sephora are like $40.00 each. If you are willing to splurge on this drugstore product you will not be disappointed one bit, trust me. I purchased two shades. The first was in the shade , “Embellishment”, and it is simply a more purply shade which looks absolutely beautiful lined with the retractable  lip liner by Nyx Cosmetic in the shade “Jewel“.  Honestly guys, this shade looks so sophisticated and beautiful on let alone just chilling in the bottle. This shade reminds me something Kylie Jenner would wear for sure no doubt.

(Guys, I can’t even deal with this shade! Literally, go out and buy it right this second). Also, I just wanted to mention that this liquid lipstick leaves your lips feeling like satin and is a long-wear lip stain. I literally only have to apply this lip stick again to touch it up if I am drinking alcohol or something. The other shade that I decided to purchase was in the shade “Satin Ribbon“. I decided to line this lip stick with the retractable lip liner by Nyx Cosmetics in the shade “Vanilla Sky”, which compliments the shade quite nicely. I really like this shade as well for a more natural and neutral/nude look. I really think both shades however, are appropriate for night-time and day-time looks or events. The only downfall that I am going to mention about these shades and the entire collection in general is the fact that all the shades are extremely similar in colour. I am probably going to purchase more of the shades and include a try on/demonstrate blog to show you beauts all the shades!

pallThe next product that I am going to rave to you beauts about is this amazing deal I found while looking online on the Sephora website. I am honestly not too sure if they still have this deal going on right now or what but I highly recommend looking into it if you have not seen this before. Apparently, this deal was going on last year as well, but I really wasn’t into the whole online shopping thing whatsoever. Now I found myself constantly looking at products online and what to purchase next with my spending money! This product is absolutely beautiful and the packaging is unreal. It is called the “Urban Decay, the perfect 3some vault”. This package includes all three urban decay makeup eyeshadow palettes. When I saw this online for a limited time online and that you could purchase all three palettes together for only like $150.00, I could not believe it. Each palette individually is around $66.00, so technically if you bought all three of these palettes individually, you would be paying around $200.00 + tax.  I have only really tried the Naked 2 palette before, and sadly left this at a friend’s house who lives far away! I knew I needed to get my hands on one again because I absolutely love the brown tones and shades. I also wanted to try the original Naked Palette as well as the beautiful Naked 3. I have always been skeptical about purchasing the Naked 3 Palette because of the pinkier shades, as I am always used to applying brown shades to my lids. I am so happy I found the courage to try this flawless palette as the shades are absolutely gorgeous and they honestly look so gentle on your eyelids. You can obviously play around with all the colours located within these 3 palettes for more dramatic or subtle looks. I know these palettes are more on the older side, but you literally can not go wrong with any Urban Decay shadows. They are always so pigmented and you can create endless looks for both day-time and night-time. I think you can only purchase this package online, so go look for it now!

(Naked 3 Palette)

(Naked 2 Palette)

(Naked Palette)

The next product that I am going to be discussing with you beauts is this unreal foundation that I have finally gotten my hands on. If any of you know me well, you know that I do not really ever purchase high-end foundation from Sephora, I literally love sticking to my drug store ones. Do not get me wrong, I absolutely love my drug store ones that I have tried in the past and still purchase my foundation from Shoppers. However, I have always been interested in finding a really good foundation for my nights out or my “bar nights”. I have heard so many reviews on this high-end foundation and finally decided to splurge on it. This foundation is called the “Allnighter Liquid Foundation” by Urban Decay. I think I pretty much only watched one review video on this foundation and was sold. I could not believe how full coverage it was and how long it lasted throughout the night, which was exactly what I was looking for. I went to Sephora and asked one of the ladies to match my skin with the correct shade (strongly recommend this step, especially if you are going to pay that much money, you want to be wearing the proper shade for sure). I bought the foundation for $50.00 in the shade 2.0. Obviously, this is extremely pricey so I deff only use this on special occasions and not for everyday wear.

nnnI can proudly say that this foundation provides me with the proper coverage that I need since my skin is often a red pigmentation. I am going to show you guys a picture, unedited, of the difference between my skin with no foundation (right side) and with the allnighter foundation (left side). As you can see I have a lot of red pigmentation on my cheeks…. why I will never know, that is just how they have always been! I am also wearing this foundation with all the photos that I will be posting within this blog post, just so you guys can literally see how bomb this really is.

“You are beautiful in your own way”

The next product that I have to share with you guys my sister recently gave to me and I really do love it! It is from Lush and it is called “Feeling Younger” which retails for around $20.00. This is a skin tint that gives you that gorgeous glow when applied to your face before applying your makeup. When I use this, I still go in with my moisturizer and then apply this to my face. I honestly have noticed a difference when applying this before my makeup as it gives off a beautiful glow and highlights my cheek bones. I honestly recommend trying out this product for yourselves and let me know what you guys think!

okThe next beauty product I have for you beauts is an oldie but a goodie. I honestly have only really tried one setting spray and that one I purchased at my local drugstore. I have always been skeptical about purchasing a high-end setting spray because I really do not know if they actually “work” or I am just thinking they do haha! I finally decided well what the heck, ill try out the small version of this beautiful setting spray by Urban Decay labeled, the “Allnighter” setting spray (might as well go big or go home). There are different types of setting sprays but realistically I will probably want one for an evening out and so forth. I have to say I really was surprised at how well this worked. This spray literally kept my makeup on all night long for my 23rd birthday. I usually just apply a few squirts to my face then voila… you are golden! I even tested this out on my liquid lipsticks by NYX and noticed right away the texture my lips felt after applying this spray… it was amazing. I purchased this at Sephora for $18.00 as it was the little version of it, just to see if I really did like it. Honestly guys, if you have not been to Sephora before and you finally go in to purchase something… waiting in line they literally have shelves of travel size products that will get you…. it is so unfair but it literally gets me every time.

The next product I have for you guys I received from one of my “100 rewards” from Sephora. It is this cute travel & sample size of Benefit’s “Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel“. I have to say the packaging for this product was super cute and got me right away! I honestly have always loved the packaging for Benefit Cosmetics, they are always so adorable and literally grab your attention like that!  I am pretty sure the lady gave me the “medium-golden blonde” shade or “3”. I am pretty sure this is the right shade for me, I mean… she looked like she knew what she was doing ! If you are unsure, be sure to just ask! The applicator is super easy to use and I have always been a fan of having great brows!

dThe next beauty product is again an oldie but a goodie. I know I know guys, I should have been ontop of this product when it first came out, but it really did not appeal to me at that specific time. I have always been a fan of contouring and highlighting your face, I think these steps are so important when trying to create that “flawless” complexion. I honestly have just always stuck to one bronzer for contouring and a cream highlighter for highlighting my face. I finally was walking through Sephora the other day…. no surprise.. and decided hey… why not finally try this product out? I think I was kind of scared and nervous to try out this product, just because there are so many shades within the palette that you can use on your face. I actually pinterested what shades go where on your face cause I literally had no friggen clue! I can honestly say that I am in love with the “Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit“, in the shade Light to Medium. I purchased this for $52.00 but it is so worth every single penny. The finished look that is achieved from this kit is absolutely flawless, and it is crazy to think it is literally from 6 different shades. It is also extremely easy and simple to work with as well, so do not be scared like I was!

Well my beauts, that pretty much sums up my beauty must-haves for the months of October and November. If I do purchase more products soon I will be sure to post another beauty blog about these products and my reviews on them. I really hope you guys benefitted from this post and enjoyed reading it. The “need to know” basics for applying eyeshadow (Natural Look)

The “need to know” basics for applying eyeshadow (Natural Look)

Hello my beauts and happy Friday! Thank goodness it is the weekend, time to party and relax at the same time. I am sorry I have been MIA the past week, I have been dealing with a family crisis that happened on  Sunday, September 18th. My step mom Kayla was in a horrific car crash where she was hit head-on by a one tonne pick up truck towing a wood chipper.  The impact was so severe that it took firefighters almost an hour to get her out of the car where she lost half of her blood supply.  She died but they were able to miraculously bring her back.  She has undergone at least 20 hours of surgeries in the past week and there will be many, many more surgeries to follow.  The doctors are in awe that she is still with us. She had her jaw broken in four places, her nose broken, her pelvis shattered, her diaphragm as well, her hip bone was sheered off, both legs broken, both ankles, one foot had to be reattached.  They’re not even sure if she’ll ever walk again.
It has been touch and go with all of the injuries and operations she has had to endure.
My dad, her fiancee has been by her side every step of the way and wishes to continue to do so. This is where we need your help.  With Kayla in the hospital and my dad  by her side, they have no income coming in. We are not trying to be greedy by any means, but if people could help to raise some money so that my dad can stay by her side, it would be so greatly appreciated.  The love and support Kayla and my dad have received has been overwhelming, and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank each and every one of you.
We will keep everyone updated as to Kayla’s progress as we continue down this long road to recovery. If you do wish to donate please visit Anything is greatly appreciated, god bless.

So now that you all know where my mindset has been for the past week, I decided to do a makeup blog this week on how to apply eyeshadow, and pretty much the basic & easy steps to follow. A friend of mine had reached out to me and requested this blog post to help her out. When applying eyeshadow, it can be a difficult process, especially if you are not used to wearing makeup a lot or simply you are new to it. Over the past years, I have self-taught myself researching makeup tutorials on youtube and other social media sites. By no means am I saying this is the correct way to apply eyeshadow or this is the only way, this is simply how I personally apply eyeshadow. I think this process is a very simple and easy one to follow, as I include pictures down below as well. I have not edited the makeup shots of my face and eyes just to show you beauts the true colour of the palettes that I have used within this tutorial. I included two different palettes that could be very beneficial for you guys to use, but feel free to explore and find one you love! I personally had to go with my all time favourite “Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Palette” where you can purchase at Sephora for $35.00, which really is not bad at all considering the pigmentation is unreal. You can also use this other palette that I purchased at Sephora as well by Smashbox called the “full exposure palette”, and I usually always use the cream colours and the light browns.

(Smashbox Full Exposure Palette)

So first before applying any eyeshadow I ensure that I have applied some sort of an eyelid primer. Here let me show you guys the difference between my two eyes; one with primer on the right and the one without primer on the left.

Processed with MOLDIV

As you can see, the eyelid on the right has a more yellow pigmentation to it which allows my eyeshadow to stay on better and the pigmentation from the eyeshadow to show up better. Trust me, you will for sure want to use a primer. I am still in love with my Kat Von D High Voltage eyelid Primer where you can purchase at Sephora for $25.00. Totally worth it.

Now that you have primed both eyelids you can move onto the eyeshadow. First I like to use my Kat Von D palette and go in with this cream colour shade, which I use as my base shade.

This beautiful cream colour is super subtle and also looks very gentle for the natural look we are going for today. I apply this colour all over the entire lid with my small eyeshadow brush that I purchased at Sephora for around $20.00. Now I know what you are thinking, what number is the brush called and so forth blah blah blah. Honestly, I am not too big on specific brushes that I use for my makeup, as long as it gets the job done. But for this first step, I do recommend a smaller and more dense brush.

Processed with MOLDIV

Processed with MOLDIV

Once you have applied the cream shadow all over your lid, take a nice “taupe” or “light brown” eyeshadow within your palette and apply this to the outer corner of your lids. You are still going to be using the same brush as earlier, but you are only going to take small amounts of this eyeshadow to start. This helps ensure that you do not over do your look, as you want it to remain natural looking.

How beautiful is this brown shade located in the Kat Von D palette?! It is such a neutral colour and allows you to build up your pigmentation if you desire to. I also highly recommend the NYX Taupe Eyeshadow which you can purchase at any Shoppers. I have used this product numerous times and it creates a nice and gentle look.

Processed with MOLDIV

As you can see, I simply made a triangle shape as I applied the taupe colour within the outer corner. Do not worry If your brown looks very harsh or messy, you are going to be blending the shadow with a fluffy brush afterwards.

Processed with MOLDIV

Now take your fluffy blending brush (purchased mine at Walmart) and start blending in the taupe nicely into the outer corners. I also take the taupe colour and apply it along the crease as well. This is simply the outer edge of the eye along your eyeball (trust me you will feel it). If you choose to do this step, be sure to take the time to blend this eyeshadow in nicely, if you rush it you will end up with a super harsh crease. You simply drag the taupe colour across your crease and let go just before your inner eye corner.

Processed with MOLDIV

Now that you have blended out any harsh spots, this is optional, but I always like to add some sort of a shimmer to my eyeshadow routine even if it is a more natural look. I like to go in with my Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy Eyeshadow and apply this within the middle of my eyelid. I do not apply this where the taupe colour is whatsoever, strictly within the middle of my lid.

Processed with MOLDIV

Processed with MOLDIV

Now that you have applied all your eyeshadow on your lids you can go in with a gel liner to help make your eyes “pop” or “stand out”. Again, this is an optional step, but I highly recommend doing this! I simply use my gel liner brush from Sephora along with my Eye Studio Gel Liner by Maybelline (Purchased at Walmart) and apply this on along my upper lash line. You can choose how thick you want your line to be, but if you are creating a more natural look, I would recommend creating a thinner line.

Processed with MOLDIV

Processed with MOLDIV

(Just look at the difference between the two eyes with and without the gel liner on top!)

After applying the gel liner, I then go in with my mascara and apply that all over my lashes. Right now I am using the Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara by Maybelline.

Processed with MOLDIV

Voila! You now have a flawless natural makeup look using the basic methods of applying eyeshadow. If you choose to, you can also line the bottom of your lashes with the taupe colour that you had previously used, and add some false lashes to spice up your natural look!

Processed with MOLDIV

If you do not really wear fake eyelashes, I highly recommend just buying a cheap pair, and I mean cheap (from the dollar store) and experimenting with them. I never used to wear false lashes but every time I go out for the night, I always have them on! I think they top off your makeup look and really make you look gorgeous! If you are interested in trying out some lashes seriously grab some at the dollar store. I always use my elf lashes and I literally buy them for $1.50 at the dollar store, and they still look flawless. There is noway in hell I will buy a $30.00 pair at Sephora when they look just as good for a cheaper price!

I hope this blog eyeshadow tutorial helped you guys out! Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions on what to write my next blog about. Be sure to follow my other social media sites as well:

My Favourite Beauty Products/ July 2016

My Favourite Beauty Products/ July 2016

Hello my beauts! Yes I am back with another blog post and this one is on different products that I have been trying pretty much for the month of July maybe a little into June as well. I always love looking for new products to try, and sharing the info I have on them with you beautiful people! Before I get into this blog post, I am just going to emphasize this coffee creamer that is literally the bomb and I always use it everyday in my coffee! It is probably old news but I recently just started using it. It’s called Cinnabon coffee creamer by Delight, and omg, it’s beautiful. It literally tastes like a desert, not really sure how good it is for you but honestly who cares, it is worth it. So stop reading this, go make a coffee with that amazing creamer, then come back, got it?

Alright, now let’s get into the products that I have been loving and want to share with you beauts! I have ordered a few products from Sephora online, so I will let you guys know in another blog post if I love the products or not, but I am super excited to try them! I ordered the new Cover FX Enhancer drops, more specifically in the shade “Moonlight”. I will let you guys know if the rave about them is true! I pretty much have heard nothing but good things about them! Okay, so the first product that I have been loving after only one use is the new Katy Perry “Katy Kat Matte Lipstick”. I really love any colours that are bright, especially when it comes to summer time. I decided to purchase the lipstick in the shade “Coral Kat”, which is what I am wearing in the photo above. I really love the pigmentation within this lipstick and how beautiful the colour is. I highly recommend trying out this lipstick line, and experimenting with the different shades. I plan on going back to Walmart to purchase more shades as well! You can find this in the Covergirl section at any local drugstore for only $8.00 or so. There are so many different shades to choose from!

The next product that I have been liking a lot is the Urban Decay individual eyeshadows. I have mentioned this product in another one of my previous blogs before, but I purchased a different shade this time. It’s funny because I meant to purchase the shade that I had discussed before that I loved, ” MidnightCowgirl”, but accidently bought “Midnight Cowboy”. I do however like this shade as well, it is not as bright as cowgirl but it is very similar. You can purchase these at Sephora for $22.00, and there are many other different shades to choose from! This is a very shimmery eyeshadow, but looks flawless with a nice brown/taupe crease.

The next product that I love I had actually won at a Stag and Doe, as it was a part of a gift basket. I really love the scent of this product, and it really does moisturize your body. I use this moisturizer on my hands, and will repurchase this product when I am all done! The one that I love is called “Triple Moisture”, and I believe you can purchase these at any drugstore. There are different scents and kinds to choose from!

The next line of products I personally love! I may have mentioned these products in previous blogs but decided to discuss them again! This brand of makeup is extremely cheap which is amazing, and the quality of the products are great as well! You can find this brand “Essence” at any drugstore, as I had purchased these from Shoppers. These products are all under $5.00! Can you believe it? I really do love these two mascaras, and would highly recommend trying them out for yourself! The pink one called “I love extreme crazy volume mascara”, is amazing for lengthening your lashes as well as giving them the right amount of volume. The brow gel  is amazing as well, and distributes just the right amount of product to the brows. I usually use this product one I have outlined my brows with the dipbrow from Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Since working at a daycare, I have been trying out different cute hairstyles that are classy/girly.  I really have been loving putting bows in my hair, usually underneath buns. I purchased these bows at Ardenes for a really cheap price, and there were so many different ones to choose from! I think I purchased around 5 in all different colours. I really love the taupe/brown shades, as they look super classy and elegant. Try these out for yourself! These bows also look super cute with half up hair styles!

The next product I purchased because it was on sale. I really have not researched too much about this beauty product but was super happy when the lightest shade was the one that was on sale! I use this product as a highlighter for under my eyes, forehead and on the bridge of my nose. This product is super pigmented and helps achieve that “awake” look. You can purchase it at any drugstore, it is called “L’oreal Visible Blur Concealer”. I was lucky and got mine on sale for literally $3.oo, but you can purchase this for $13.00.

I am always on the hunt for new concealers/highlighters! I have a mixture at home of high end highlighters and drug store highlighters as well. I was browsing in Shoppers one day and decided to give this little guy a try! I bought this for $8.00 from NYX Cosmetics and I am loving it! I honestly always use concealers as highlighters, I just buy the fairest and lightest shade possible. I highly recommend trying this out for yourself and tell me what you think!

So guys, I have a huge hype to discuss with yous. While I was working on this blog earlier on in the week, my online Sephora package came in! I tried out all my products that I had received and pretty much fell in love with every single one of them. I ordered the Cover Fx Enhancer Drops in the shade Moonlight because it was sold out in stores. This is a liquid highlighter that is just absolutely gorgeous. I love love love how pigmented it is, and could not be any happier with the shade I picked. There are many different shades to choose from, but I found this shade to be more of a champagne pigment to it. I love how shimmery it is when applied to the cheekbones. I will say however that this product needs to be blended properly to give the desired effect or else you will have harsh bright lines. This product was not that cheap however sadly. I paid $52.00 for it, but I truly believe it is worth it 100%. After I let this product sit and settle on my face, I go in with my baked powder highlighter and apply this over top.

As you can see , I swatched the shade for you on my hand without any editing applied.

How beautiful is this shade? The applicator is a dropper that helps distribute the makeup easier, which is awesome!

The next few product that I am going to discuss are so gorgeous. I received these from my reward points that I have been collecting over the months from Sephora. I got the package called “Tarte Tartiest Tools”, and had the opportunity to try out different Tarte products. The first product is called the Tartiest Mascara. It comes with a spiky brush and the formula is not too wet. Personally it was not one of my absolute favourite mascaras but it is still very good. Probably because I am still hooked on my L’oreal Telescopic Mascara!

The next two products look beautiful together and that is the Lip Paint and the Lip Liner. I absolutely love this lip paint. I was not too sure if I would like it or not mainly because I do not usually wear dark lipsticks whatsoever. After applying this on my lips I was blown away at how good these two products looked. The formula goes on wet, then dries in a short amount of time. I really love this shade, and it complimented the rest of my makeup so well! I will post a picture below of the shade on my lips.

Shade- Hangry

(This colour looks beautiful for the summer time, and would be perfect for both during the day and night).

Shade- Mood Ring

The next product that I received in my rewards package was rather neat and interesting. It is a clay based eyeliner that came with a nice angled brush. This clay paint liner in the shade Bronze looked beautiful on top of my eyelids. I really love the brown liner and the formula was rather neat to work with. It is however, a bit hard to control the formula when squeezing it out, but once you get the hang of it, it gets easier. I really love the angled brush that came with it as well!

Well my beauts, that pretty much sums up the products that I have been loving this month! Let me know if you guys try these products out for yourselves! Be sure to follow my page for more blog posts to come, and let me know what posts you guys would like to read next, I am highly curious!

Forever 21 Summer Haul 2016

Forever 21 Summer Haul 2016

Hello my beauts, I hope you are all doing well and dandy! I have been super busy lately with work and actually trying to decide what to blog about next. I came up with a few good ideas recently as I have gone on several shopping sprees! Normally, I would not really do any fashion hauls or try-on hauls, just because it’s not my forte. I went to the mall not too long ago and decided to go into one of my favourite stores, Forever 21. I honestly love going into this store, and have found quite a few nice things recently. I used to think that Forever 21 was either a hit or a miss, sometimes they have really weird and “out there” clothing. When I recently went there, I found so much nice clothing pieces that I literally could’ve kept on spending and spending if I didn’t cut myself off.  I decided to share the clothing that I purchased with you beauts, just to give you guys an idea what Forever 21 has right now, and what sorts of outfits I have been loving for the summer time.

Processed with MOLDIV

I absolutely love how big the Forever 21 is in Limeridge mall,  there is just so much to look at and I could spend hours in there just browsing! The first outfit that I decided to try on and purchase was this super cute Casual and Comfy skirt and top. I absolutely love the design on the skirt, and the material is super comfy. I also love the belt that comes attached to the skirt, it helps compliment the outfit. I paired the skirt with a plain and simple stretchy black crop top. This style of top came in a bunch of different colours, but I thought that you could pair black with anything, what is one more black top, am I right?!

The next outfit that I am going to share with you guys is super cute! I absolutely love the look of dress shorts, and really did not own a pair of my own! I saw that a lot of people all over Pinterest were wearing shorts of this style and was so happy when I came across a pair at Forever 21. I personally do not know if they are meant to be high waisted but I decided to pull them up anyways! You can pair this with basically any crop top. I decided to use this super cute knot tie crop top that I had purchased from Forever 21 as well.

Processed with MOLDIV

I also decided to try this dress shorts with a plain white crop top that I had purchased from Forever 21 too. I love how there are buttons going down the front, so cute!

Processed with MOLDIV

The next outfit I decided to go for a more girly & flirty look! I decided to go a bit out of my comfort zone and purchase some floral loose shorts. I absolutely love how comfy these are and how nice they are high waisted. There are many different colours that you can choose from when it comes to matching the flowers in these shorts.

I love love love this crochet crop top! I was so happy when I had found it, and decided that I needed to purchase it right away. This looks unreal with the shorts, and adds extra definition to the whole outfit. Like I said, you can wear other colour tops with these high waisted shorts, I decided to go with the beautiful tie knot crop top that I had mentioned earlier.

Processed with MOLDIV

(I also love the cute pompoms on the end of the shorts that I forgot to mention!)

The next outfit I decided to go for a more casual look with the high waisted retro shorts.Unfortunately I did not purchase these shorts however from Forever 21, but I did go the same shopping day and found these on sale at Garage. I absolutely love the salmon colour on anything, and knew that I had to get these right away. I love the way the navy blue looks on these shorts, and luckily I had bought two navy blue crop tops from Forever 21 that matched perfectly.

Processed with MOLDIV

How cute is this crop top? It ties on both shoulders into a knot and looks super classy!

I also paired these  high waisted retro shorts with the crochet crop top in navy blue that I had purchased and discussed earlier.

Processed with MOLDIV

When I was browsing through Forever 21, I had noticed this really cute oversized sweater just chilling on the rack. I am pretty sure it was in the wrong spot as there was only one there, but I had to get it! How cute is the back? You can pair these with some jean shorts and voila you are all set to go! I absolutely love the colour of this sweater as well.

I was also playing around with different outfits that I could put together with some of the crop tops that I had purchased and came across this casual one. If you do not own any of these kinds of pants, I highly highly recommend it. They are super comfy and literally look amazing with crop tops or even just a plain t shirt. I am a daycare teacher and always get compliments when wearing these pants. I purchased mine at Garage for $30.00 each and bought one in black and the other in olive green. I decided to pair the olive green pants with the black stretchy crop top that I had purchased from Forever 21.

Well my beauts, that sums it up for my Forever 21 summer haul. I really hope you enjoyed this blog and found it entertaining as well as interesting. I highly recommend checking out your nearest Forever 21 for beautiful summer clothes! Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for more blog posts yet to come for the summer! Hello my beauts, I hope you are all doing wonderful and fantastic! I literally have been MIA I know I know, I am surprised I have not lost any followers but that makes me super happy you guys are sticking around and being patient with me! So guess what? This gal finally got her hands on some spending money for once in her life, that’s right. So I decided to be spontaneous and get my hands on the new Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Eye Palette. I purchased this at Sephora for I believe around $55.00.

The packaging is really cute and I love the way the palette looks once you open it. To be honest, I had no idea that there were already designated looks planned out for you within the palette, by this I mean you receive a paper within the package that tells you what colours are for the “bases” what ones are the “highlighters” and so forth which I found extremely helpful.  I also liked how many looks that you can create with this palette as well using both the recommended eye looks and ones you can create on your own. I am going to show you guys today the different looks you can create with the palette that were recommended already and one I came up with on my own.  Hands down after using this palette only once, I absolutely fell in love. Not only is each colour extremely pigmented, but all the looks are super beautiful for both day time and evening looks.

The Everyday Neutral Makeup Look

Processed with MOLDIV

( Just to let you beauts know in advance I did not edit these photos to show you exactly how each colour looks within the palette as well as on my eye lids).

So as you can see, you are going to use the first section of the palette to create a more natural/neutral everyday look. I like to wear this look a lot when I am heading to work or just doing simple things. I find that this makeup look is completely appropriate for those types of events, and it is extremely easy to create as well. You are first going to make sure that your eye lids are primed with a primer before applying any of the eyeshadow. I love love love to always use my Kat Von D High Voltage Primer. I have mentioned this so many times within my blogs but I can not emphasize enough how beautiful this makes your eye shadow appear once applied. Then you are going to take the base colour located up above and apply this all over the top of your lids. Once you have applied the base, you are now going to grab your crease colour and apply this with a crease brush of course, all in your crease line. I absolutely love these two colours together, they are very simple yet you can still see the eyeshadow on the lids very well. After applying and blending the crease colour with the base, you are going to take your highlighter and place some of this shadow within the corner of your eyes to help “wake” you up. I know everyone is super tired in the morning when they have to get up early for work, so applying this within your corners is super helpful and gives off the effect that you got loads of sleep!

This part is optional if you choose, but you can take the darker colour which is the definition shade, and apply this underneath your eyes along your bottom lash line, you can also apply this on top of your upper lash line as well. In my case, I applied this on the lower lash line to help make my bottom lashes “pop” but did not apply it to the top as I used a liquid eye liner instead. How easy was that? I of course, add some coats of mascara, and my liquid eye liner to create a “winged” look, as well as added some false lashes. There you go! All ready to go to work or go run some errands!

Evening or Day Time Look

The next look that I am about to show you guys follows the same steps as discussed in the order up above with the first look. The colours that you are going to use for this specific look however are located at the very end section of the palette and are more of a reddish/warm quad. I really do love these colours as well, and think they can look really nice for an evening or even a day time look as well, depending on how dramatic you make each of the colours.

Night Time or Evening Look

Basically for this specific look you are going to use the exact same quad of colours you used in the last look but you are going to add a bit of the black shadow that is located in the middle to the outer crease of your eyes. This will help add a more dramatic look to your makeup, as well as create more definition within your crease. This little touch goes such a long way and looks absolutely stunning on nights out!

The Last Evening Look

For this last evening look, you are going to use the middle section, or the “cool quad” when creating this look. Personally I think that this look is better suited for a night out or an evening look as opposed to a day time look just basically it is a bit on the darker side as opposed to a more subtle look. I really love the colours that are located in this section and love the “taupe” look.

Spring daytime to nighttime look 2016!

Spring daytime to nighttime look 2016!

Hello my beauties, I hope you are all doing so well! I know I know… I literally have been MIA! Where the hell have I been might you ask? I have been super super busy with school work and my exams as well. I probably will not be blogging for a little bit after this because I am headed away to Mexico, but I will for sure upload a blog about my trip! I have been nonstop writing papers out of my bum and can finally say ” I do not have to write another essay ever again”.. thank god for that! I have also been busy with my new apartment and rearranging everything in there so there’s that. I will for sure be uploading an apartment tour later on when I am finish decorating and what not since I pretty much just started! Hmmmm what else is new? OH! I cut my hair, yes I did. I was sitting infront of my tv one day watching 90210 when I just thought how bored I was of my hair and how I really wanted a change pronto. So me being my spontaneous self I decided to chop off my own hair…. and well…. it actually turned out really well, I was impressed with my hidden talent!  Enough about my personal life and more about my blogging life! So I decided that I have not really done a makeup tutorial in a really long time and thought I might as well upload one for a change ! Since Spring is here I wanted to show you guys my everyday Spring makeup look that I have been really loving lately! I also wanted to show you guys how to achieve a nighttime look from this daytime look as well, without having to remove any of your previous makeup. Without further or do let’s get started!

First, you want to make sure you are starting off with a freshly clean face. I have been currently using “Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser” everytime I wake up and I use it before I go to bed as well. I have been liking this cleanser so far, but it is one where it does not feel like all your makeup is fully off of your face, so I often have to go in with another cleanser in order to feel “clean”. You then want to go in with your moisturizer before applying any of your makeup.

I next like to go in with my face primer and have been loving my “Benefit Hangover Face Primer”, which I have used in previous blogs before. I find this primer is very moisturizing and smells amazing which is a huge bonus! You can purchase this at Sephora for $40.00 which is pretty expensive but I really do think it is worth it.

I apply my foundation all over my face with my lovely beauty blender. I rave about this thing all the time but I literally swear on it and have not gone back to a face brush since I started using it.

The foundation that I have been using daily for quite some years now is the “Revlon Colourstay in Buff” Foundation. I find that this foundation stays on my face all day and overall has an amazing full coverage.

It all depends on your personal preference what products you like to apply first on your face but when it comes down to my makeup routine, I always apply my whole face leaving the highlighting and contouring til after my eye makeup is complete. When I let my foundation dry for a few minutes, I like to go in and set it with my MAC Studio Fix powder which is my ultimate favourite. I have been using this product for two years now and it is my go-to for sure.

I apply the powder all over my face with one of my big fluffy brushes. I make sure that I have applied this everywhere where I placed the foundation on my face.

As you can see I have used this product numerous times and I will not be stopping anytime soon! I love to use the “Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer” on my eyelids to ensure my eyeshadow stays in place all day long. I highly highly recommend trying this product out for yourself. I love how yellow the pigment is when you apply it to your lids, and it makes your eye shadow appear flawless. You can purchase this at Sephora for $20.00.

I then like to go in and start filling out my eyebrows. I always use my “Anastasia Dip Brow” when filling in the spaces within my brows, and this product literally stays on all day with no smudging or coming off. I highly recommend trying this out for yourself and making sure you have an angled brush to go with it. You can purchase it at Sephora for $23.00.

I have recently started using this palette that I purchased a while ago from Sephora, it is called ” Smashbox Full Exposure”. When I first purchased it, I was not in love with it and really did not know what looks to create with some of the colours. I found that  it was not really pigmented, but I recently started using it again with my Kat Von D Primer. I am extremely happy with the results when I use it on top of this, and have created so many wonderful looks with it! There is a bigger size palette out there of this product, but I purchased the travel size to test and try it out. You can purchase it at Sephora for $28.00.

I first like to take a blending brush and apply this peachy colour within the palette into the crease of my lids. I find this creates a nice and gentle look, and I really think this is appropriate for the spring time as well.

Once that is applied within the crease, I then like to go in with my Colour Tattoo Metal by Eye Studio in the shade “Barely Branded” and apply this all over my lid avoiding the crease where I applied the peach colour. This creates a nice metallic colour and allows the next shadow that I am going to be applying to appear “flawless” and “pigmented”. I just apply this product using my finger.

I then take my next eyeshadow colour from within my palette which is a “white” colour and apply this all over the cream eyeshadow that I just applied.

Now it is time to highlight and contour! I love to use my Nars Laguna Bronzer when it comes to day time looks as it is extremely gentle and looks more natural. I apply this to my cheekbones, my jaw line, my forehead as well as the bridge of my nose. You can purchase this at Sephora for $52.00, but I highly recommend it. This product has lasted me forever and I am still not done yet!

I then like to go in with my highlighter and apply this to certain areas of my face such as my forehead, under my eyes and the bridge of my nose. I absolutely love using my  MAC Prolong Wear Concealer which I purchased for $26.00.

(Looking Fab!)

Next, I apply my liquid eye liner to the tops of my lids in order to help my eyes stand out more. I apply my gel liner that I purchased from Walmart by Maybelline called “Eye Studio Gel liner” and apply a thin layer on top of my eyes. I also added a wing to it as well. Based on your personal preference,  you can make the wing as big & thick as you like it to be, personally I like mine more within the middle range. Some days I skip the wing process, and other days I add it in.  I apply this with a liner brush that I purchased at Sephora which makes it super easy to apply the product. What also helps me to achieve a straight wing is by using a credit card or a straight edge. You can also use tape as well which makes it really easy!

After applying my liner and creating a wing I am happy with, I apply my mascara primer before applying my actual mascara. I absolutely love my Dior Maximizing Plumping Serum which I purchased at Sephora for $43.00. This product enhances my lashes allowing them to look plumper and fuller before I apply my mascara. I then let this product dry for a few minutes before applying my favourite mascara “L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara”to my lashes.

Next, I apply some finishing touches to my face such as my blush which is called “Orgasm by Nars” and apply this to the apples of my cheeks.

I then go and apply my highlighter called “Laura Mercer Highlighter” to my forehead, bridge of my nose and the top of my cheek bones.

After applying my highlighter, I then move onto my lips. I first take my beauty blender which has excess foundation on it still and dab this over my lips. This helps create a nude look and it blocks out the natural pigment of your lips for the lipstick. I apply my “Dior” Nude lipstick all over my lips keeping this look more natural as it is my everytime day time look.

(Voila!, A very natural &neutral day time look! I sometimes incorporate a wing and some days I don’t)

Don’t you hate it when you are going out at night and have to redo all of your makeup so it looks more dramatic? Now you don’t! I have created a nighttime makeup routine going off of your previous day time look we just have created. Pull out that palette again and let’s get started!

You are now going to use this dark brown shade and apply this with a small eye shadow brush to your crease. This is going to create a super pretty shade on top of the peach colour that you already have. You can bring this colour into the outside corner of your lids as well, creating more of a smokey effect.

You are then going to take this grey shimmery shade and apply this to the outside corner of your lids. This will help darken the colour and create more of a dramatic look.

Next, when it comes to a  night out of course you need some false lashes! I am using my favourite Elf lashes and applying them with my DUO glue that I purchased from Sephora for $12.00 in the darker shade. After applying my lashes I then take my favourite MAC lipstick in the shade “Snob” and apply this over the nude shade previously on my lips.

And Voila, you are now ready for the night out! I absolutely love this nighttime look and it is super easy to achieve as well! It is way easier than having to take off all of your makeup and start from scratch.

I hope you guys enjoyed this Spring day time to nighttime makeup tutorial using the SmashBox Full Exposure Palette. I highly recommend purchasing this palette for yourself and trying out these beautiful colours!

Why I chose to Start Blogging

Why I chose to Start Blogging

Hello my beauties, I hope you all are having a wonderful day! I decided to write this blog post on why I chose to start blogging, and how to get started when creating a blog page. I have never really been the type of girl who enjoyed writing as a past time or a hobby, it never really interested me. Over the years, I have always been recommended by others to start a journal and keep track of what goes on throughout your day. For sure it was fun to pick out a cute journal from Chapters or Coles, and it was fun to write a couple of entries here and there, but I would later forget to write in it, or get bored super fast. So that whole journal thing blew over really fast. I remember always being asked ” what’s your hobby?” or “what do you enjoy doing?”. Let’s just say I absolutely HATED being asked these questions because I never really knew how to answer them! I literally felt like an absolute idiot because I personally felt like I did not have a hobby whatsoever. I was always puzzled when answering this question and was always so embarrassed as well! I would usually come up with things like “well… I like to tan, go shopping, go out with friends”, but I never really had my own personal hobby. This is whenI actually started researching different hobbies on the internet… yes I was THAT girl, but I could not really find anything that interested me. I kind of just pushed that whole hobby thing to the side, and went on my way with completing my school work and so forth.

I was enrolled in an elective that I had chosen called Intercultural Studies at Brock University, and constantly participated in online seminar discussions where my T.A would read over and mark my responses. I remember one of his responses towards my post which stated that I had a blogging voice, and that I should consider pursuing a career within the blogging industry. I was flattered by his remark, and really thought about what he had suggested. I never really thought of myself being the blogging type, but I slowly started to consider it and I wrote down a list of different topics that I could blog about. I began researching different tips and tricks on what to blog about and how to get started. I started to question “what interests me?”, “what do I like to read about?” and so on.

I have always been interested in the Youtube industry, and have wanted to start my own Youtube channel for the longest time. Being a University student who was on a budget, I did not have the proper financial support to go out and buy all the equipment such as high quality lights and cameras to get started on Youtube. I was kind of bummed out and pissed at first that I couldn’t start my own channel, but I had known for a fact that I loved watching other beauty gurus on Youtube. Most of my free time is directed towards watching beauty related videos. I would often watch how these individuals presented themselves, and how they presented their products within their videos. I started to analyze all sorts of things from their videos , and finally came up with a list of topics that I wanted to associated and gear my blogs around. These things included: makeup tutorials, beauty products, DIY’s and lastly life stories/advice. I could not primarily focus on one specific topic because I had knowledge and interests on all 4 of those categories. The idea of blogging started to really interest me when I looked more into it.

I knew for a fact that I loved taking pictures but not just any pictures. I wanted my pictures to stand out and all be planned out. I wanted the products that I was going to discuss within my blog to be set up nicely with props and everything. One thing you will notice about all my blogs is that I absolutely love incorporating pictures in them. I personally do not like reading a blog post that has hardly any photos within it. I tend to get bored very easily and the blog looks super extra long…. does it not!? It looks as though it would take forever to read and I am not down for that! My one piece of advice that I highly recommend to individuals who are planning on starting their own blog page, is to include a shit ton of pictures! Try to be creative with them too and personalize them! You will slowly start to gather more traffic on your site by doing this.

When I blog, I automatically go to my happy place and cherish my time doing it. I put my phone right away and block everything out as this is “my time”. My boyfriend knows right away that if I do not reply to his text messages for a couple of hours that I must be blogging! I find that I get less distracted when I put my phone away as well, and I can focus way better. There are some days where I have a hard time trying to find topics to blog about. I usually try to think back to the past few days to see if any events have been going on or if anything has sparked my interest. If you are still having a hard time coming up with a topic don’t sweat it, it will eventually come to you! I am hoping that my blogs will pick up, and I will have more followers later on in the future. I mainly write my blogs for pleasure! Having the opportunity to share my knowledge with other people is extremely rewarding, especially if I only help one or two people out. I appreciate the feedback that I receive from my blog posts as well, and couldn’t be happier that you guys are taking the time to read them! It really does mean a lot to me, so thank you very  much! I came up with a few tips and tricks for you beauts on how to get started when writing a blog page.

  1. Start on WordPress– I highly recommend starting your blog posts on this site! It is extremely easy to follow and there are many different other sites to look at to get ideas from and what not.
  2. Creating a list-Create a list of different topics that you would like your blogs to be based around. This will help you gather different ideas on what to discuss within these categories.
  3. Decide what day– Decide when you are going to upload and publish your blogs. This ensures and allows you to stay on task when  writing your blogs and planning your week/day.
  4. Reply to comments– Make sure to reply to your comments on your page. This ensures that your followers are top priority and you are focused on their thoughts/opinions.
  5. Create your signature– It took me a while to come up with my own signature but I finally came up with the saying “Much love xo.”, and I stuck with it. I find this to add a personalized touch and be super catchy as well!

These are just a few of my tips and tricks on how to get started when blogging! I hope this helped some of you beauts out! If you have any questions feel free to comment below. Be sure to follow my page as well and my other social media accounts
