The “need to know” basics for applying eyeshadow (Natural Look)

The “need to know” basics for applying eyeshadow (Natural Look)

img_4690

Hello my beauts and happy Friday! Thank goodness it is the weekend, time to party and relax at the same time. I am sorry I have been MIA the past week, I have been dealing with a family crisis that happened on  Sunday, September 18th. My step mom Kayla was in a horrific car crash where she was hit head-on by a one tonne pick up truck towing a wood chipper.  The impact was so severe that it took firefighters almost an hour to get her out of the car where she lost half of her blood supply.  She died but they were able to miraculously bring her back.  She has undergone at least 20 hours of surgeries in the past week and there will be many, many more surgeries to follow.  The doctors are in awe that she is still with us. She had her jaw broken in four places, her nose broken, her pelvis shattered, her diaphragm as well, her hip bone was sheered off, both legs broken, both ankles, one foot had to be reattached.  They’re not even sure if she’ll ever walk again.
It has been touch and go with all of the injuries and operations she has had to endure.
My dad, her fiancee has been by her side every step of the way and wishes to continue to do so. This is where we need your help.  With Kayla in the hospital and my dad  by her side, they have no income coming in. We are not trying to be greedy by any means, but if people could help to raise some money so that my dad can stay by her side, it would be so greatly appreciated.  The love and support Kayla and my dad have received has been overwhelming, and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank each and every one of you.
We will keep everyone updated as to Kayla’s progress as we continue down this long road to recovery. If you do wish to donate please visit https://www.gofundme.com/2qre83fg. Anything is greatly appreciated, god bless.

So now that you all know where my mindset has been for the past week, I decided to do a makeup blog this week on how to apply eyeshadow, and pretty much the basic & easy steps to follow. A friend of mine had reached out to me and requested this blog post to help her out. When applying eyeshadow, it can be a difficult process, especially if you are not used to wearing makeup a lot or simply you are new to it. Over the past years, I have self-taught myself researching makeup tutorials on youtube and other social media sites. By no means am I saying this is the correct way to apply eyeshadow or this is the only way, this is simply how I personally apply eyeshadow. I think this process is a very simple and easy one to follow, as I include pictures down below as well. I have not edited the makeup shots of my face and eyes just to show you beauts the true colour of the palettes that I have used within this tutorial. I included two different palettes that could be very beneficial for you guys to use, but feel free to explore and find one you love! I personally had to go with my all time favourite “Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Palette” where you can purchase at Sephora for $35.00, which really is not bad at all considering the pigmentation is unreal. You can also use this other palette that I purchased at Sephora as well by Smashbox called the “full exposure palette”, and I usually always use the cream colours and the light browns.

img_4670

(Smashbox Full Exposure Palette)

So first before applying any eyeshadow I ensure that I have applied some sort of an eyelid primer. Here let me show you guys the difference between my two eyes; one with primer on the right and the one without primer on the left.

Processed with MOLDIV

As you can see, the eyelid on the right has a more yellow pigmentation to it which allows my eyeshadow to stay on better and the pigmentation from the eyeshadow to show up better. Trust me, you will for sure want to use a primer. I am still in love with my Kat Von D High Voltage eyelid Primer where you can purchase at Sephora for $25.00. Totally worth it.

Now that you have primed both eyelids you can move onto the eyeshadow. First I like to use my Kat Von D palette and go in with this cream colour shade, which I use as my base shade.

img_4669

This beautiful cream colour is super subtle and also looks very gentle for the natural look we are going for today. I apply this colour all over the entire lid with my small eyeshadow brush that I purchased at Sephora for around $20.00. Now I know what you are thinking, what number is the brush called and so forth blah blah blah. Honestly, I am not too big on specific brushes that I use for my makeup, as long as it gets the job done. But for this first step, I do recommend a smaller and more dense brush.

Once you have applied the cream shadow all over your lid, take a nice “taupe” or “light brown” eyeshadow within your palette and apply this to the outer corner of your lids. You are still going to be using the same brush as earlier, but you are only going to take small amounts of this eyeshadow to start. This helps ensure that you do not over do your look, as you want it to remain natural looking.

img_4669

How beautiful is this brown shade located in the Kat Von D palette?! It is such a neutral colour and allows you to build up your pigmentation if you desire to. I also highly recommend the NYX Taupe Eyeshadow which you can purchase at any Shoppers. I have used this product numerous times and it creates a nice and gentle look.

1501-1

Processed with MOLDIV

As you can see, I simply made a triangle shape as I applied the taupe colour within the outer corner. Do not worry If your brown looks very harsh or messy, you are going to be blending the shadow with a fluffy brush afterwards.

Processed with MOLDIV

Now take your fluffy blending brush (purchased mine at Walmart) and start blending in the taupe nicely into the outer corners. I also take the taupe colour and apply it along the crease as well. This is simply the outer edge of the eye along your eyeball (trust me you will feel it). If you choose to do this step, be sure to take the time to blend this eyeshadow in nicely, if you rush it you will end up with a super harsh crease. You simply drag the taupe colour across your crease and let go just before your inner eye corner.

Processed with MOLDIV

Now that you have blended out any harsh spots, this is optional, but I always like to add some sort of a shimmer to my eyeshadow routine even if it is a more natural look. I like to go in with my Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy Eyeshadow and apply this within the middle of my eyelid. I do not apply this where the taupe colour is whatsoever, strictly within the middle of my lid.

Now that you have applied all your eyeshadow on your lids you can go in with a gel liner to help make your eyes “pop” or “stand out”. Again, this is an optional step, but I highly recommend doing this! I simply use my gel liner brush from Sephora along with my Eye Studio Gel Liner by Maybelline (Purchased at Walmart) and apply this on along my upper lash line. You can choose how thick you want your line to be, but if you are creating a more natural look, I would recommend creating a thinner line.

(Just look at the difference between the two eyes with and without the gel liner on top!)

After applying the gel liner, I then go in with my mascara and apply that all over my lashes. Right now I am using the Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara by Maybelline.

Processed with MOLDIV

Voila! You now have a flawless natural makeup look using the basic methods of applying eyeshadow. If you choose to, you can also line the bottom of your lashes with the taupe colour that you had previously used, and add some false lashes to spice up your natural look!

Processed with MOLDIV

If you do not really wear fake eyelashes, I highly recommend just buying a cheap pair, and I mean cheap (from the dollar store) and experimenting with them. I never used to wear false lashes but every time I go out for the night, I always have them on! I think they top off your makeup look and really make you look gorgeous! If you are interested in trying out some lashes seriously grab some at the dollar store. I always use my elf lashes and I literally buy them for $1.50 at the dollar store, and they still look flawless. There is noway in hell I will buy a $30.00 pair at Sephora when they look just as good for a cheaper price!

My Favourite Beauty Products/ July 2016

My Favourite Beauty Products/ July 2016

IMG_4135

Hello my beauts! Yes I am back with another blog post and this one is on different products that I have been trying pretty much for the month of July maybe a little into June as well. I always love looking for new products to try, and sharing the info I have on them with you beautiful people! Before I get into this blog post, I am just going to emphasize this coffee creamer that is literally the bomb and I always use it everyday in my coffee! It is probably old news but I recently just started using it. It’s called Cinnabon coffee creamer by Delight, and omg, it’s beautiful. It literally tastes like a desert, not really sure how good it is for you but honestly who cares, it is worth it. So stop reading this, go make a coffee with that amazing creamer, then come back, got it?

Alright, now let’s get into the products that I have been loving and want to share with you beauts! I have ordered a few products from Sephora online, so I will let you guys know in another blog post if I love the products or not, but I am super excited to try them! I ordered the new Cover FX Enhancer drops, more specifically in the shade “Moonlight”. I will let you guys know if the rave about them is true! I pretty much have heard nothing but good things about them! Okay, so the first product that I have been loving after only one use is the new Katy Perry “Katy Kat Matte Lipstick”. I really love any colours that are bright, especially when it comes to summer time. I decided to purchase the lipstick in the shade “Coral Kat”, which is what I am wearing in the photo above. I really love the pigmentation within this lipstick and how beautiful the colour is. I highly recommend trying out this lipstick line, and experimenting with the different shades. I plan on going back to Walmart to purchase more shades as well! You can find this in the Covergirl section at any local drugstore for only $8.00 or so. There are so many different shades to choose from!

IMG_4136

IMG_4137

The next product that I have been liking a lot is the Urban Decay individual eyeshadows. I have mentioned this product in another one of my previous blogs before, but I purchased a different shade this time. It’s funny because I meant to purchase the shade that I had discussed before that I loved, ” MidnightCowgirl”, but accidently bought “Midnight Cowboy”. I do however like this shade as well, it is not as bright as cowgirl but it is very similar. You can purchase these at Sephora for $22.00, and there are many other different shades to choose from! This is a very shimmery eyeshadow, but looks flawless with a nice brown/taupe crease.

IMG_4140

The next product that I love I had actually won at a Stag and Doe, as it was a part of a gift basket. I really love the scent of this product, and it really does moisturize your body. I use this moisturizer on my hands, and will repurchase this product when I am all done! The one that I love is called “Triple Moisture”, and I believe you can purchase these at any drugstore. There are different scents and kinds to choose from!

IMG_4142

The next line of products I personally love! I may have mentioned these products in previous blogs but decided to discuss them again! This brand of makeup is extremely cheap which is amazing, and the quality of the products are great as well! You can find this brand “Essence” at any drugstore, as I had purchased these from Shoppers. These products are all under $5.00! Can you believe it? I really do love these two mascaras, and would highly recommend trying them out for yourself! The pink one called “I love extreme crazy volume mascara”, is amazing for lengthening your lashes as well as giving them the right amount of volume. The brow gel  is amazing as well, and distributes just the right amount of product to the brows. I usually use this product one I have outlined my brows with the dipbrow from Anastasia Beverly Hills.

IMG_4144

Since working at a daycare, I have been trying out different cute hairstyles that are classy/girly.  I really have been loving putting bows in my hair, usually underneath buns. I purchased these bows at Ardenes for a really cheap price, and there were so many different ones to choose from! I think I purchased around 5 in all different colours. I really love the taupe/brown shades, as they look super classy and elegant. Try these out for yourself! These bows also look super cute with half up hair styles!

IMG_4143

The next product I purchased because it was on sale. I really have not researched too much about this beauty product but was super happy when the lightest shade was the one that was on sale! I use this product as a highlighter for under my eyes, forehead and on the bridge of my nose. This product is super pigmented and helps achieve that “awake” look. You can purchase it at any drugstore, it is called “L’oreal Visible Blur Concealer”. I was lucky and got mine on sale for literally $3.oo, but you can purchase this for $13.00.

IMG_4138

I am always on the hunt for new concealers/highlighters! I have a mixture at home of high end highlighters and drug store highlighters as well. I was browsing in Shoppers one day and decided to give this little guy a try! I bought this for $8.00 from NYX Cosmetics and I am loving it! I honestly always use concealers as highlighters, I just buy the fairest and lightest shade possible. I highly recommend trying this out for yourself and tell me what you think!

IMG_4139

So guys, I have a huge hype to discuss with yous. While I was working on this blog earlier on in the week, my online Sephora package came in! I tried out all my products that I had received and pretty much fell in love with every single one of them. I ordered the Cover Fx Enhancer Drops in the shade Moonlight because it was sold out in stores. This is a liquid highlighter that is just absolutely gorgeous. I love love love how pigmented it is, and could not be any happier with the shade I picked. There are many different shades to choose from, but I found this shade to be more of a champagne pigment to it. I love how shimmery it is when applied to the cheekbones. I will say however that this product needs to be blended properly to give the desired effect or else you will have harsh bright lines. This product was not that cheap however sadly. I paid $52.00 for it, but I truly believe it is worth it 100%. After I let this product sit and settle on my face, I go in with my baked powder highlighter and apply this over top.

IMG_4244

As you can see , I swatched the shade for you on my hand without any editing applied.

IMG_4245

How beautiful is this shade? The applicator is a dropper that helps distribute the makeup easier, which is awesome!

IMG_4207

The next few product that I am going to discuss are so gorgeous. I received these from my reward points that I have been collecting over the months from Sephora. I got the package called “Tarte Tartiest Tools”, and had the opportunity to try out different Tarte products. The first product is called the Tartiest Mascara. It comes with a spiky brush and the formula is not too wet. Personally it was not one of my absolute favourite mascaras but it is still very good. Probably because I am still hooked on my L’oreal Telescopic Mascara!

IMG_4242

The next two products look beautiful together and that is the Lip Paint and the Lip Liner. I absolutely love this lip paint. I was not too sure if I would like it or not mainly because I do not usually wear dark lipsticks whatsoever. After applying this on my lips I was blown away at how good these two products looked. The formula goes on wet, then dries in a short amount of time. I really love this shade, and it complimented the rest of my makeup so well! I will post a picture below of the shade on my lips.

Shade- Hangry

IMG_4243

IMG_4201

(This colour looks beautiful for the summer time, and would be perfect for both during the day and night).

IMG_4247

Shade- Mood Ring

The next product that I received in my rewards package was rather neat and interesting. It is a clay based eyeliner that came with a nice angled brush. This clay paint liner in the shade Bronze looked beautiful on top of my eyelids. I really love the brown liner and the formula was rather neat to work with. It is however, a bit hard to control the formula when squeezing it out, but once you get the hang of it, it gets easier. I really love the angled brush that came with it as well!

IMG_4241

Well my beauts, that pretty much sums up the products that I have been loving this month! Let me know if you guys try these products out for yourselves! Be sure to follow my page for more blog posts to come, and let me know what posts you guys would like to read next, I am highly curious!

Why I chose to Start Blogging

Why I chose to Start Blogging

IMG_2233

Hello my beauties, I hope you all are having a wonderful day! I decided to write this blog post on why I chose to start blogging, and how to get started when creating a blog page. I have never really been the type of girl who enjoyed writing as a past time or a hobby, it never really interested me. Over the years, I have always been recommended by others to start a journal and keep track of what goes on throughout your day. For sure it was fun to pick out a cute journal from Chapters or Coles, and it was fun to write a couple of entries here and there, but I would later forget to write in it, or get bored super fast. So that whole journal thing blew over really fast. I remember always being asked ” what’s your hobby?” or “what do you enjoy doing?”. Let’s just say I absolutely HATED being asked these questions because I never really knew how to answer them! I literally felt like an absolute idiot because I personally felt like I did not have a hobby whatsoever. I was always puzzled when answering this question and was always so embarrassed as well! I would usually come up with things like “well… I like to tan, go shopping, go out with friends”, but I never really had my own personal hobby. This is whenI actually started researching different hobbies on the internet… yes I was THAT girl, but I could not really find anything that interested me. I kind of just pushed that whole hobby thing to the side, and went on my way with completing my school work and so forth.

IMG_2236

I was enrolled in an elective that I had chosen called Intercultural Studies at Brock University, and constantly participated in online seminar discussions where my T.A would read over and mark my responses. I remember one of his responses towards my post which stated that I had a blogging voice, and that I should consider pursuing a career within the blogging industry. I was flattered by his remark, and really thought about what he had suggested. I never really thought of myself being the blogging type, but I slowly started to consider it and I wrote down a list of different topics that I could blog about. I began researching different tips and tricks on what to blog about and how to get started. I started to question “what interests me?”, “what do I like to read about?” and so on.

IMG_2244

I have always been interested in the Youtube industry, and have wanted to start my own Youtube channel for the longest time. Being a University student who was on a budget, I did not have the proper financial support to go out and buy all the equipment such as high quality lights and cameras to get started on Youtube. I was kind of bummed out and pissed at first that I couldn’t start my own channel, but I had known for a fact that I loved watching other beauty gurus on Youtube. Most of my free time is directed towards watching beauty related videos. I would often watch how these individuals presented themselves, and how they presented their products within their videos. I started to analyze all sorts of things from their videos , and finally came up with a list of topics that I wanted to associated and gear my blogs around. These things included: makeup tutorials, beauty products, DIY’s and lastly life stories/advice. I could not primarily focus on one specific topic because I had knowledge and interests on all 4 of those categories. The idea of blogging started to really interest me when I looked more into it.

I knew for a fact that I loved taking pictures but not just any pictures. I wanted my pictures to stand out and all be planned out. I wanted the products that I was going to discuss within my blog to be set up nicely with props and everything. One thing you will notice about all my blogs is that I absolutely love incorporating pictures in them. I personally do not like reading a blog post that has hardly any photos within it. I tend to get bored very easily and the blog looks super extra long…. does it not!? It looks as though it would take forever to read and I am not down for that! My one piece of advice that I highly recommend to individuals who are planning on starting their own blog page, is to include a shit ton of pictures! Try to be creative with them too and personalize them! You will slowly start to gather more traffic on your site by doing this.

IMG_2237

When I blog, I automatically go to my happy place and cherish my time doing it. I put my phone right away and block everything out as this is “my time”. My boyfriend knows right away that if I do not reply to his text messages for a couple of hours that I must be blogging! I find that I get less distracted when I put my phone away as well, and I can focus way better. There are some days where I have a hard time trying to find topics to blog about. I usually try to think back to the past few days to see if any events have been going on or if anything has sparked my interest. If you are still having a hard time coming up with a topic don’t sweat it, it will eventually come to you! I am hoping that my blogs will pick up, and I will have more followers later on in the future. I mainly write my blogs for pleasure! Having the opportunity to share my knowledge with other people is extremely rewarding, especially if I only help one or two people out. I appreciate the feedback that I receive from my blog posts as well, and couldn’t be happier that you guys are taking the time to read them! It really does mean a lot to me, so thank you very  much! I came up with a few tips and tricks for you beauts on how to get started when writing a blog page.

IMG_2238

  1. Start on WordPress– I highly recommend starting your blog posts on this site! It is extremely easy to follow and there are many different other sites to look at to get ideas from and what not.
  2. Creating a list-Create a list of different topics that you would like your blogs to be based around. This will help you gather different ideas on what to discuss within these categories.
  3. Decide what day– Decide when you are going to upload and publish your blogs. This ensures and allows you to stay on task when  writing your blogs and planning your week/day.
  4. Reply to comments– Make sure to reply to your comments on your page. This ensures that your followers are top priority and you are focused on their thoughts/opinions.
  5. Create your signature– It took me a while to come up with my own signature but I finally came up with the saying “Much love xo.”, and I stuck with it. I find this to add a personalized touch and be super catchy as well!

These are just a few of my tips and tricks on how to get started when blogging! I hope this helped some of you beauts out! If you have any questions feel free to comment below. Be sure to follow my page as well and my other social media accounts

December Haul 2015

December Haul 2015

IMG_1881

Hey there my lovelies! I hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday! I decided to upload two blogs today because well.. why the hell not!? It usually depends what I have going on that specific Wednesday but I will either upload between 1-2 posts. Can I first start off by saying where did December go? I mean I was looking forward to Christmas for forever, then now it’s gone and done…crazy! Over the month of December, I purchased several new items ranging from makeup products, to skin care products, and even fragrance products.  I have a whole bunch of things to share with you guys that I really feel you will enjoy reading about! Some of the products I received as Christmas gifts, but the others I bought for myself. Let’s get started!

The first item that I want to share with you guys is this amazing Makeup Eraser that I purchased from Sephora. I purchased this for $24.00 and I actually am really pleased with the results! Okay, I know what you’re thinking… how the heck is this little cloth going to take all my makeup off with just water? Am I right? I thought the exact same thing, and was super skeptical about buying this product. After reading reviews and convincing myself to get it, I finally tried this product out for myself. Basically, it’s this super soft pink cloth that you put under water and rub on your face. The one side of the cloth (the more soft side) is specifically used for taking off all your face makeup including; foundation, powder, brows, eyes and lips. Once you have finished taking off all your makeup, you flip the cloth over (the other side) and this works as an exfoliator for your face. I was extremely impressed with this cloth, as it did take all of my makeup off! I had to go over my eyes a couple of times, but did not need to use any makeup remover or wipes. When I was finished, not going to lie, I was grossed out at the giant black cloth full of mascara and nasty crap. On the package it says to wash it in the washing machine after using it, but ain’t no one got time for that! I basically just put a bit of my hand soap in my bathroom that I use, scrub both sides together for a second, then rinse it off under water. I could not believe that all the makeup was gone within seconds off the cloth, and it looked brand new all over again! I then just hung up the cloth until it was dried, then it was ready for my next use. When purchasing this cloth, you want to make sure that you do wash it prior to your first use…why I am not too sure but I was just following the instructions! And voila, a nice clean face ready for bed!

IMG_1984

The next item that I am going to share with you guys is this cute recycle, reusable and re-enjoyable… phew that was a lot, Starbucks cup! I recently got a couple Starbucks gift cards for Christmas and came across this cute cheap cup when ordering my coffee. This cup was under $5.00 and is super accessible for when you want to lay in bed in the morning and lounge. I love putting my teas and coffees in here! I also wanted to share my recent purchase of knee high socks. I have always wanted a pair of these because I think they look super comfy and cute with pj shorts or you can even wear them with a going out outfit. I purchased mine at H&M for around $13.00, which I thought was kind of pricey. Some socks came with two in a pack and others were just one. There was a variety of textures and colours to choose from! I bought grey and black plain knee highs, and some woolly ones as well that were super cute!

IMG_1968

The next item that I want to share with you guys are these two combs! The first one I purchased from Sephora, and it was $10.00. I only use combs in my hair after I get out of the shower or in the morning, especially wide tooth combs. I came across this super cute pink Sephora comb and had to purchase it!

IMG_1970

The next comb I was searching for forever, and it was the teasing comb. I never really tease my hair, and always wanted to when going out on special occasions. I wanted a comb that was a little more gentle on my hair and the lady in Trade Secrets recommended this little brown brush. I paid around $8.00 for this and can honestly say it has worked wonders for my hair. I feel that it is not too harsh and works great for teasing my hair, even without any hairspray applied. I have thin hair, and thought this product was a must to buy, I highly recommend it.

IMG_1983

Next, I am going to share with you a few makeup brushes that I recently just picked up from Sephora. I am a beginner when it comes to eye makeup brushes, and only own like 2 so I thought “might as well purchase two more!”. I was looking around in Sephora and came across these two wonderful eye brushes. The first is called a “Pro Small Shadow Brush #15” which was $23.00. I thought this was a little bit pricey, but all makeup brushes are pricey usually. I use this brush on a daily basis to apply my eyeshadow on my lids.

IMG_1972

The second brush that I purchased from Sephora and absolutely love is the “Pro Gel Liner Brush #26” which was $21.00. I use this on a daily basis to apply my gel liner on top of my eye lids.  I find this brush gives me the right amount of control to apply my liner, and is the perfect width as well.

IMG_1971

This moves onto my next item that I purchased from my local drug store and it is the “Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in blackest black”. I purchased this for $10.00 at Walmart and I find this is the best gel liner I have used so far! This little product goes such a long way and you only need a little bit of it each day.

IMG_1973

The next product that I am going to show you guys are the two eye shadows that I use on a daily basis. I love the beige look and love to go towards a more neutral appearance. I recently purchased this eye shadow from Walmart called “Colour Tattoo Metal” in the shade 70 Barely Branded. I absolutely love the colour of this product and I love the fact that it is a cream as well! After I apply my eye shadow primer, I go right ahead in applying this cream all over my lids before moving onto my next shadow.

IMG_1975

After applying this cream eyeshadow I move onto applying this shimmery beige eyeshadow. I purchased this product from Sephora in the Urban Decay section. This is my first time purchasing Urban Decay’s singular eye shadows and let me just say how beautiful it is! I love the pigmentation that the shadow gives off, as well as this beautiful colour!  If you are not into the shimmery and glittery eye shadows then I would highly recommend staying away from this specific colour. This colour is in the shade “Midnight Cowgirl” and is just gorgeous! I purchased this item for $22.00 and would for sure grab another when I am through with this one!

IMG_1976

IMG_1977

The next item that I have for you guys is from LUSH. I received a few bath bombs which I absolutely loved. This was my first time ever using a bath bomb and I can gladly say that I am going to purchase more when I run out of these ones!  I had used two already which were the “Pink Bath Bomb” with the flowers in the middle, and the “Avobath bomb”. I thought the scents of these were absolutely amazing and would purchase these two again! The one that I am going to share with you guys is the luxury bath melt called “You’ve been Mangoed”.  You can purchase this in the LUSH store for $6.45 and let me just say, you will not be disappointed! This product does not fizz up like a bath bomb, but rather dissolves at a slower pace, leaving your skin smelling like fresh mangos. Aside from the bath bombs, I cut this product in half and only used bits at a time when in the bath tub. I would highly recommend trying these products out for yourself!

IMG_1980

The next item that I have for you guys is from LUSH again, and they are called the “Herbalism” face and body cleanser and the “Eau Roma Water”. I absolutely love this face wash as I found it clears up my face so well. I do however hate the smell, as it makes my face smell like it has a salad on it…. but that’s okay because it works wonders! I purchased this at LUSH for $13.95 for the smaller container. I decided to purchase a toner as well, and came across the Eau Roma Water toner. I absolutely love the smell of this product and spray it on a cotton pad after washing my face. I purchased this product for $22.95 and would highly recommend trying it out for yourself! The scent of this toner is a gentle rose and lavender tonic, which is super relaxing and smells amazing.

The next products that I have for you guys are a couple of mascaras. I purchased this first one at Walmart for under $10.00 and it’s called “L’Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes”. I  love the look of this product and found that it did look really nice on my lashes. However, personally I do not like to use this product by itself but rather as a second applicator to my lashes. I love products by L’Oreal Paris, but am still in love with my Telescopic mascara by them.

The next mascara that I have to share with you guys is the “Lash Factory 3D Fiber Lashes” which was given to me as a Christmas gift. I have only used this once so far! I am pretty sure you can purchase this on Amazon for around $20.00. There is a two-step process when applying this mascara, and I found that it made my lashes look extremely long! Just be sure to follow the directions inside the packaging when applying this product and you will be good to go!

The next two products are some of my favourite! I absolutely love taking baths and find them to be extremely relaxing when you are having a stressful and hard day! When I have baths, I do not like to wash my hair every time as this strips your hair’s natural oils, so I always found it hard to keep my hair dry when I was soaking! I recently came across this cute shower cap that I purchased at the dollar store, and it keeps my hair dry when bathing. There were many different colours to choose from, but obviously I had to go with the pink sparkly one! I also got this amazing EOS as a Stocking stuffer and love the scent! I am pretty sure you can purchase this basically anywhere and it has a wonderful coconut scent to it…. mmmmmmmmmm!

IMG_1982

The next product has to do with relaxation as well, and it is the “Sleep Aromatherapy in Lavender Vanilla” pillow mist. I purchased this at Bath and Body Works for $10.00 and absolutely love it. I have always had a difficult time getting to sleep, but found once I sprayed a few spritz on my pillow, I was good to go! This scent is super relaxing and extremely affordable. If you are having trouble getting to sleep at night, try out this pillow mist!

The next product that I have for you guys is the “Ultra Gentle daily cleanser by Neutrogena”. I recently got this as a Christmas gift, and I love applying this to my face before I go to sleep. I find this extremely gentle on my skin and I really do love this product. I am pretty sure you can purchase this at Walmart or any drug store.

IMG_1979

The next item that I am going to share with you guys is this amazing eye lash curler that I purchased from Sephora. I bought this for $21.00 and it’s called “the Sephora Collection Show Curl Lash Curler”.  I really do like the look of this product, and thinks it looks super classy. I like to use this product before I apply my mascara and actually after I applied my mascara as well.

IMG_1978

I recently just tried this new primer from Sephora that I have heard so much rave about. I really do love this primer called “Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer” that I purchased for $40.00.  This coconut scent primer is great for keeping your makeup on all day, and leaves your skin feeling really refreshed and smooth.  I would highly recommend trying out this product for yourself !

IMG_1969

The last product that I have to share with you guys is this beautiful smelling perfume that I just recently purchased at Victoria’s Secret for $78.00. This perfume is called Scandalous and looks super pretty on my makeup desk! I couldn’t resist the classy appearance of it, and always wanted a perfume with a pump! This fragrance has a black peony, raspberry liqueur and praline scent to it! Highly recommend purchasing  this item for yourself!

My Everyday Makeup Routine for a “Neutral Look”

My Everyday Makeup Routine for a “Neutral Look”

It’s hard to specifically develop a “permanent daily makeup routine”, believe me. Over the years I have tried numerous makeup routines ranging from “sparkly shadows”, to “darker eyeshadow tones”, to even “hardly any makeup”, but I have finally found my current every day makeup routine that includes my favourite makeup products! When I am doing my makeup everyday, I try to aim for a more neutral routine, as I love incorporating browns in my shadows. So if you are looking for a nice neutral makeup routine that is suitable for days at work, lounging around, going out, or just an everyday look then please keep reading!

  1. Firstly, you need to make sure you have a a nice clean face before applying any makeup whatsoever. This is then followed by moisturizing your face, and making sure there is no dry skin to affect the application of your makeup. After you are done doing this step, you need to apply a primer all over your face. This helps to ensure that your pores are covered, and there are no visible ones showing. When I first started using makeup, I never had used a primer before applying the rest of my makeup. I never really knew that there was an important purpose for this step until I started youtubing beauty video, and every beauty youtuber had used some sort of a primer. I then bought my first primer from Sephora in the Benefit section called “The Pore Fessional”. This is a product that helps to minimize the appearance of pores, and it is a translucent silky liquid. You only need a dime size amount of this product and apply it all over your face. I personally love this primer, and would repurchase it again and again. I have noticed a big difference after using a primer before applying my foundation. The primer has made my face look almost “photoshopped”, and has kept my makeup on throughout the whole day without coming off.

    2) After you are done applying a primer to your face, you need to apply a liquid foundation. I am not going to lie, I have gone through a lot of liquid foundations, and have tried many different brands. As of right now, I am currently using a drugstore product from Rimmel London called, “Lasting Finish with comfort serum”.  This product is a skin perfecting full coverage foundation in the shade “100 Ivory”, as I am not pale, but I am not super tanned. You can purchase this product at Walmart or even Shopper Drug Mart (personally when it come to drugstore products, shop at Walmart as they are way cheaper than Shopppers).  This product is available in 7 different shades, and retails for $8.98 at Walmart.  This foundation lasts up to 25 hours and is sweat and humidity proof. I really do like this foundation a lot, and even in the summer it does not feel too heavy on my face. I apply this foundation all over my face with a Beauty Blender. This is one of my holy grail products as I just recently started using this for over a year now. You can purchase Beauty Blenders at Sephora, as they retail for $26.00 for an original beauty blender. Yes I know. Why the heck would you pay almost $30.00 for a sponge?! Honest to god, after trying this for the first time as opposed to using my fingers or a foundation brush, my foundation has never looked better. It makes my makeup look flawless and sit beautifully on my face. You need to make sure that you are using the Beauty Blender correctly. Beauty Blenders should be distributed under cold water and squished a few times before application usage.  In order to achieve the best foundation application you need to use a wet beauty blender as this expands the sponge to hold a lot of the product.IMG_3469

3) For the third step  after you have applied your foundation, you need to set it with a setting powder.  This helps to ensure that your foundation stays on all day, and dries up all the “sticky residu”.  I love MAC Cosmetics, and will continue to use a majority of their makeup products for my makeup routines. For my setting powder, I am really loving the MAC “mineralize skin finish powder” in the shade Medium. It is always best to ask one of the cosmetic specialists working at the store to help you match your skin tone, making sure you are not going too dark or too light. This  powder can be used on it’s own without foundation and still provide a nice coverage which I love. This powder retails for $37.00 in stores, but has lasted me a long time. I would highly recommend purchasing this powder.

4) After applying a powder all over your face to set your foundation, I usually move on to the contouring and highlighting of the cheekbones.  I have a few products when it comes the different bronzers that I use when contouring my cheeks, nose and forehead.  This is a very important step if you want to have more of a defined face structure.  I do not go a day without highlighting and contouring my face, as it bring out all of my different features. I have two different bronzers to choose from when completing this step. The first bronzer that I am going to share with you is from Sephora and it’s called “NARS Laguna Bronzer”. This is one of my favourite products to use, and it has lasted me a long time. This shade brings out a very “natural” look to your face, beautifully defining your face structure. This product retails for $48.00 at Sephora. It is not too dark and not too light for my skintone, that is why I am in love with it so much. The other bronzing powder that I like to use is from Sephora as well and it is called “TwoFaced Chocolate Soleil” in medium/deep. Not only does this product have a nice pigment to it, but it also smells just like chocolate! How cool is that?! I just want to eat it.  This product retails for $38.00 at Sephora and I would highly recommend using this bronzer powder.

5) When it comes to highlighting of the face, I have tried many different highlighters from many different brands of makeup. I have heard a lot of good reviews on this specific highlighter that I decided to purchase from Walmart called, “Maybelline Instant Age Rewind- Eraser for Dark Spots”, in the shade light. I had purchased the “treatment corrector” which helps to erase and minimize the appearance of dark spots under your eyes. This product does not feel heavy on your face, and has covered my dark spots flawlessly. I can now see what the huge hype was about! I use this highlighter under my eyes, on the bridge of my nose and on my forehead. I then take my Beauty Blender to evenly blend out my highlighter. This product can be purchased at Walmart for $6.29.

IMG_3477

6) After contouring and highlighting your face, I now move onto my favourtite part of my makeup routine… the eyes! First, you need to make sure you prime your eyes with an eyeshadow primer. When I first started wearing makeup I had never used an eyeshadow primer because I personally really didn’t see the point in it, and had no interest . But my beauty bloggers, trust me.. this is a very VERY important step in your makeup application process. After trying an eyeshadow for the first time, my eyeshadow has stayed on my eye lids all day, and has not came off. Also, my eyeshadow has more pigment when it is applied to an eyeshadow primer as opposed to applying it on it’s own. I wish that I knew how useful this product would be earlier on, then only finding it recently because it is one of my holy grail’s for sure! The eyeshadow primer that I have been using is called, “Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion”, and it retails at Sephora for $24.00.  This product has honestly improved the appearance of my eyeshadow, and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this product again.

IMG_3474

7) After applying a potion all over your eyes, you can now choose what eyeshadow you would like to use. After purchasing the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette at Sephora, I have fell in love with it ever since. I absolutely love all the shades that this palette has to offer. This palette offers a bunch of shades ranging from beiges to browns, to dark browns, and lastly black.  I found that a majority of these shades you can use for “everyday makeup shadows”, which is what I love about this palette. The only downfall I would have to say is just how expensive this palette is at Sephora. It retails for $64.00, but I can honestly say that it is worth every penny, and you would not be disappointed. The current shades that I am loving is “Tease, half-baked, Suspect..” what can I say, I love them all!

IMG_3473

8) Next, after applying your eyeshadow I like to apply a liquid black liner to the top of my eye lids. I find that this step helps to bring out my eyes more as opposed to leaving them looking bare. I am currently loving this liquid liner that I started trying called, “Loreal Paris-Carbon black liquid liner”. What I love about this product is how it was designed, as you can manage a good, sturdy grip when applying this product. This product retails at Walmart for $7.59, and has a felt tip.

IMG_3479

9) After applying your liquid eyeliner to the top of your lids, and waiting for it to dry, you can now move onto your mascara! I have tried a lot of different mascaras over the years ranging from drug store products to high end products and I have currently found my favourite mascara by far. When looking for mascaras, I go for the more “clumpy and lengthening” mascara which adds a lot of volume to my lashes. Some may say I go a little overboard when it comes to the mascara but this is what I have found works best for myself. I am in love with the “Loreal Paris-Telescopic carbon black” mascara. Ever since using this mascara I have received numerous compliments throughout the week on how good my lashes look! This product retails at Walmart for $5.99 or a bit higher, but I would completely recommend this mascara as it is my absolute facourite and has not let me down!

IMG_347510) When you are finished applying your mascara and letting it dry you can now move onto filling in your eyebrows if needed. Over the years I have overplucked my eyebrows so many times to the point where they now have spaces in them, which is sad. So I have resulted into looking for products to fill in my eyebrows and create a more “fuller brow”. One of my absolute favourite and only eyebrow products that I use is called, “Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade” in the shade Taupe. I have always had trouble keeping my brows to stay on all day without smudging and coming off. My friend recommended this product to me and I fell in love ever since. After applying it to my brows it has stayed on all day, and you only need very minimal of this product everyday which is nice. This product is a little expensive for such a small container but like I said, you do not need a lot. You can purchase this product at Sephora for $23.00 and it comes in many different shades.

IMG_3480

11) Lastly, I apply a nice shimmery highlighting powder to my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, and my forehead. This helps to define your face more when it catches in the light. For this step I use “Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder” from Sephora in the shade Dim Light. This product retails for $52.00 at Sephora but I would highly recommend purchasing this powder. It sits beautifully on your face and looks flawless.
